Small town reporter Mia Durante finds herself having brunch with the President of the United States on the day civilization comes to an end.

An electromagnetic pulse blinds the U.S. Cars crash. Planes fall. Chaos reigns. Power is restored within minutes, but it’s already too late. Russian nukes are falling. U.S. allies around the world are already wiped out. The United States will cease to exist inside of five minutes.

After giving the order to launch a full-scale retaliation–dooming the planet–the president, his staff, Secret Service and those lucky enough to be visiting the White House, are whisked below ground, where they board several Earth Escape Pods. As the EEPs launch into Earth orbit, missiles descend.

Less than forty survive the end of the world. When they return, they’re greeted by survivors of a different sort. The bloodbath that follows leaves Durante and nine other survivors on the run. They find themselves fighting for survival in a world in which only torment remains and where death is the only escape.

Torment is award-winning author Jeremy Robinson’s first pulse-pounding horror novel (originally penned under his Jeremy Bishop pseudonym). It's a horrific tale of post-apocalyptic terror that is one part zombie story and one part Dante’s Inferno. The story asks hard questions and generates strong emotions in everyone who listens to it—anger, excitement, and most of all: fear. This book asks the question that everyone is afraid to answer: are you ready?

Disappointing; not Robinson's best work

Spoilers: Point taken. Reading this was torment - waiting for a twist or sudden epiphany turned the experience into a slog with no relief at the end.

an interesting concept as always by Robinson

definitely not his best book, but it was enjoyable none the less. great narration by RC Bray too.

Just didn’t like it.

Just didn’t like it. The start is promising but the last chapters are, to be kind, just my cup of tea. Too much religious connotations.

Don’t be fooled. This DOES fit into the timeline.

I like the way this meshes with the timeline. I waited until I listened to infinite 2 before making this review. Now I’m glad I did. Excellent way to bring it all together.

Wow! Well that escalated fast!

Didn’t know what to expect and how it would fit in the timeline. But damn!!!!! I wasn’t ready. From start to finish you wont be disappointed. Jeremy you are a mastermind in how you’ve put this universe together! Its a must read for fans of this timeline.

it's well narrated, and a good story, just not for me unfortunately. the narration is really well done though

Easy Recommendation

Torment is easily my favourite horror story. The friggin' G.O.A.T. I tell you. A horrific vision hell that will put the fear of God into you. Great to terrify your kids with!

Oh the Horror

I fell in love with Jeremy's books since Dark. I have need listening to everything I can find from him since then. his books have made me laugh and put me on the edge of my seat with suspense. There are no jokes in this book, this is a balls to the wall thriller ride to the end. I could not stop listening. as much as I miss RC making me laugh, he nailed it with keeping rhe suspense going.

if you like horror, do yourself a favor and listen to this!

Disturbing... and I loved it!

Jeremy Robinson conjures a frightening world with thought provoking twists on what true Hell is. I'm not sure I understand why this story is so controversial, but perhaps it's because it *is* so disturbing. (And if we're going to be honest, totally plausible on some level.)

R.C. Bray, with his unparalleled voice talent, brings each character uniquely and distinctly to life.

Torment is a helluva roller coaster ride; bring your barf bag if you're cursed with a vivid imagination and an overly sensitive stomach.
