Convicting
I understand that this is technically fiction, however for those of us to do believe in Jesus, this is a powerful motivator to take our faith seriously day today. May God spare us from having to experience his Wrath.

Narrator not as good as Jack.
I love the book, the narrator not so much. Prefer the version with Jack S.

Surely this is not to come
It is hard to believe one individual could actually acquire the power with the speed Nickeli was able to. I surely hope this never happens.
Although it is fiction, it is true to the scriptures and therefore, I find it alarming. However, it is worthy of a good recommendation.
These books should be required reading in school.

2nd time Reading since 9-11
I read this over 10 years for the first time and it made such an impact on how I understand the end times. Today, it seems even more realistic of the times to come. Although, this is a fictional account, the scriptural references encourage me to read the prophecies and be ready.

Trite
Disappointed. Like it was written for fourth graders. The silly stereotypes in the first book are taken to a new level of stupidity.

Not what I expected - spoilers in my review
I read exactly one review before starting this series, and it was free with Amazon plus, so why not give it a try, right?
The review I read said something to the effect that even if you are not religious, you will learn factual things about religious prophecy and it is an interesting story.
There are parts of the story that were interesting to me. The idea of millions of people disappearing at the same time, leaving only clothing and their personal effects behind is interesting. Unborn babies disappearing from the womb and bodies awaiting burial disappearing is interesting.
I’ve read 1.5 books into the series, and the only hypothesis for the disappearances that is given any real consideration in the narrative is that those who disappeared were taken by the “Rapture;” either innocent by their youth, or true believers in Jesus Christ.
The main antagonist is a man who appears to be trying to unite the world in peace, who is intelligent and speaks many languages - yet BEWARE he is Satan incarnate, and able to hypnotize non-believers into not seeing his true actions or motives. His plucky sidekick is a flirty flight attendant who is despondent after the disappearances, because her sister can no longer counsel women who want abortions since there are no longer any pregnant women.
I think if my children dematerialized one day along with all other children and the “true believers,” I might succumb to religious propaganda about the Rapture and that is interesting to think about.
However, none of the main characters seem to experience any real grief about their losses - they just take a deep dive into zealotry so that they might eventually join those they lost, find their way to heaven and covert as many non-believers as they can along the way.
The storyline is actually very shallow, and the characters also lack depth. The “protagonists,” are mostly described as being highly intelligent and/or educated, yet have conversations and thoughts that are inane, immature or devoid of critical thinking at best, which irritate me.
I worry deeply about the propaganda imbedded in this story - don’t trust the United Nations, intelligent people who appear to promote peace, or other religions.
I also wonder, far less significantly, why the corpses disappear - is the soul bound to the flesh? Have souls been trapped in graves or ashes for thousands or years awaiting the Rapture? These thoughts are interesting and deserving of a shudder to think about, which is partly why I kept reading.
I ultimately chose to give this book/series 2 stars because of the thoughts it provoked, even though the series itself is ridiculous.

Performance definitely better this time. Not as many pauses and i didn’t hear the narrator breathing. Love these books.

Wonderful
Someone sent Left Behind to me and after reading it the old fashion way I wanted to continue with the series. But most of my time is spent in my car. I found audible.com and it has become a way of life. I am hooked on the Tribulation Force and can't wait to get from one book to another. Makes the Bible easier to understand especially Revelations.
