Story
The Monarchs, the most powerful sacred artists on Cradle, rule with unquestioned authority. They are mysterious and distant, and catching a glimpse of one is privilege enough for a lifetime. To meet one is to come face-to-face with a legend. Now, they have all gathered in one place, bringing their heirs and greatest students together for a competition to determine whose successor is the best in the world.

Story
Sacred Valley has been saved...at least, what’s left of it. With his home finally secure, Lindon delves deep into the ancient labyrinth, seeking long-lost Soulsmithing knowledge and the secret to destroying the Dreadgods. Monarchs plot against him and against each other, unaware of the threats gathering in realms beyond. Far above Lindon and the Monarchs and the Dreadgods, another war is waged. Suriel and the Abidan clash against the Mad King and his forces in a battle for the fate of many worlds. And if it is lost, Cradle will be destroyed.

Lindon has a year left. When his time runs out, he’ll have to fight an opponent that no one believes he can beat. Unless he learns sacred arts the right way, from scratch, he won’t have a chance to win...and even then, the odds are against him. In the course of their training, he and Yerin travel to the Blackflame Empire, where they fight to master an ancient power left behind by a fallen clan. Story
I woke up in a battlefield triage tent, bloody, battered, and crippled. It wasn't just my arm and shoulder that was broken, but also my mind. I couldn't remember anything—my name, who or where I was, or what had happened to me. Could things get worse? Of course they could. The battle wasn’t over, and it appeared that our enemy wasn't content with just a victory. No. They sought to wipe us out. But why? If I lived long enough, perhaps I would find out.

Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

How is it the best one yet?
Damn near speechless. I thought since it was a while since i read the last one my love for the series would have faded. But it was rekindled and burning brighter than ever in the first few minutes. I don't know how he does it, but Will Wight takes what SHOULD be a complicated magic system, and what SHOULD be complicated fights and makes them remarkably easy to follow and visualize. Every tail swipe, every laser beam, every sword slash. The narrator also does a fantastic job at voicing the different characters and their attributes. Will if your reading this, take some time off see some family, celebrate the success of this book, and then PLEASE start the next book. Because until then im unsouled.

WINTERSTEEL is on a whole 'nother level. Will knows how to pull on your heart strings, feed you just enough to want more. Throw everything at you, and only then does the image solidify. I have always viewed authors as simply storytellers or creative people. This book led me to an epiphany. Authors, or at minimum Will Wight, are artists. The story written by Will and read by Travis Baldree is an absolute masterpiece. It seems that I rate every new book in this series as better than the last. This series is simply incredible. Even at full price, this series is a must read. I'm in awe. Utterly incredible, gentlemen. Well done.
