We have an amazing chat to a women trying to do a world first. Ella Hibbert is embarking on a record-setting, never been done before, solo and non-stop Arctic Circumnavigation - a feat that has long been considered impossible. Ella's goal is to raise to raise awareness about the challenges the Arctic is facing due to the effects of global warming on the polar north. She is raising awareness and money for the charities Polar Bears International and Ocean Conservancy, to support them in their work to help protect the future of the Arctic. She is hoping to go in June and we a right there with her. We think you will be as well after this Ep.

This week we talk to India Syms who at 23 navigated Outlaw, the Baltic 55 in the Ocean Globe Race 2023. The OGR was a round the world race recreating the original Whitbred Round the World race. All the boats were pre 1988 and all the tech was the same as 73. So India navigated with a sextant, a weather fax and dead reckoning. We had a bit of fun with this idea whilst the race was on. Now it was done, we wanted to find out what it was like. We really enjoyed this chat. We think you will as well.

GT has a long history in the Etchells and the Magpie team have been dominant this year. GT also has an enviable record in the Hobart especially on the 100 footers, so we have plenty to talk about.

There is a new Transatlantic race for the Class 40 fleet - The Niji 40. It departs today 7 April at 1pm France time.
We took the chance to chat to one of our favourite frenchmen, Hugo Picard, (Ep143 a great episode) who is competing with William Mathelin-Moreaux, (skipper) and Davy Beaudart as they sail their new Class 40 - Dékuple across the Atlantic.
The Dékuple Sailing Team has a solid program ahead, and we discuss it in full and get right into what a class 40 is like. Great fun. Best of luck to all competing in the race. We published early so you could enjoy it on your crossing.
