We could blame everything that happened on Marco. He was the one who heard about the downed submarine. He was the one who thought we should check it out. And everyone knows that if Marco's up to a challenge, I'm definitely there. Everything was going fine. Until the explosion. An explosion that blew us millions of years back in time, to the age of dinosaurs. Now Tobias, Cassie, Marco, Ax, Jake and I are fighting for our lives with every step we take. But that's not our biggest problem. Our biggest problem is we have no idea how to get back to our own time ...

Cassie's had it. After the last mission, she realizes she's getting tired of missions. Tired of battles. Tired of being an Animorph. She decides that she just can't do it anymore. So she quits. But the war for her planet isn't so easy to quit. It seems a human-Controller named Karen followed Cassie after the last run-in with the Yeerks, and she knows Cassie has the ability to morph. If she exposes Cassie, it's all over. No more Cassie. No more Animorphs. No more planet Earth.

The blue box Elfangor used to create the Animorphs has been found by a kid named David. David has no idea what he has - or what it can do. But Marco does. And when he sees David with it, he knows the Animorphs have to get that box. At any cost. But what should have been a simple plan ends up going horribly wrong, leaving David is on the run with the Animorphs. Now they have only two choices: Turn David over to the Yeerks, or make him an Animorph.

There is a new Animorph. And he's arrived just in time, because the Yeerks are preparing their biggest takeover ever. Their ultimate target: the world's most powerful leaders, all gathered together in one place. What better way to get into the minds of humans? Literally. At first, David joins the fight with a vengeance. But there's definitely something wrong. Because he's starting to break the rules, taking risks that could get them all captured. Or killed. The Animorphs don't know what to do.

David, the newest Animorph, is not what he appears. His need to control the other Animorphs is all he thinks about. And the things he does are starting to break up the group. Rachel and the others know that time is running out. The newest battle against the Yeerks is the most important one yet. And it's not one that will wait. Winning this fight could mean slowing down the invasion. But no one knows what to do with David. Because the newest Animorph is more than just a little problem. He's deadly.

Dak Hamee is a unique Hork-Bajir. His people call him a seer. He learns more quickly and completely than the rest of his docile race. Hork-Bajir like him are born once a generation. Aldrea is a young Andalite. Daughter of the notorious Prince Seerow. It is only after she and her family are sent to the Hork-Bajir home world that she begins to fight the Yeerks—and, with Dak's help, ultimately discovers their hideous plan. Esplin 9466 is the Yeerk that will become the feared Visser Three. He has set out to defeat the Hork-Bajir, and begin the building of the Yeerk Empire.

Someone's looking for Tobias. Someone who says she's his long-lost cousin. Tobias isn't sure the person is telling the truth, but she's really nice, and knows a lot about him. And what she tells Tobias definitely gets his attention. It seems a lawyer has discovered Tobias' father's last will and testament. So, Tobias needs to attend the reading. His cousin even offers to go along. But something just doesn't feel quite right. That's when Tobias and the other Animorphs decide to do a little checking on this "cousin". And what they discover will change the rest of Tobias' life.

Cassie and the other Animorphs have a few little problems. A few very little problems. Actually, the problems call themselves Helmacrons. They're less than an inch tall, and they're pretty upset at Cassie. They believe she stole their ship. Cassie thought it was just a toy and gave it to charity. Now the Helmacrons want it back. So the Animorphs have a new dilemma. Because the Helmacrons have their own secret weapon: They can shrink other beings down to their size. And if they don't get their ship back soon, everyone on the planet is in for a little surprise.

Marco and the other Animorphs have managed to find out where the Yeerks are planning to build their next ground-based Kandrona. That's a good thing. But the location is supposed to be somewhere near the North Pole. That's a bad thing. The Animorphs know that the Yeerks are a "cold-blooded" species, but this is a little nuts! Who wants to be near the North Pole without Arctic morphs - and wearing spandex?

The Animorphs have met the Ellimist. He helped to save the kids when they were about to be eaten by a Taxxon. He helped to free two Hork-Bajir and restored Tobias's morphing ability. But even though the Ellimist has enormous power, he is not all powerful.

The Animorphs have one true ally in their battle against the Yeerks: the sentient androids known as the Chee. So when they discover that the Chee - including their friend Erek - are in trouble, they have no choice but to help.

The Yeerks have decided to try a little experiment. They've decided that if they can develop a way to make people more "willing" to be infested, they can speed up Earth's invasion. So the Yeerks try to invent a substance that will take away the human ability to make a decision. A substance that will eliminate free will.

Something is very wrong with Ax. He's sick, and the Animorphs don't know what to do about it. They can't take him to the hospital. They don't know how to contact the Andalite home world. And Ax is dying.

We found out who Visser Four is. And he has found the Time Matrix, the machine Elfangor had hidden in the abandoned construction site. The same place we met him on a night none of us will ever forget. Especially me. Now Visser Four has the Matrix, and he plans to use it to become Visser One. But Jake, Rachel, Cassie, Marco, Ax and I can't let that happen. We can't let him alter time so that the Yeerks will win the invasion. So we're prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice. Eventually, one of us will lose this fight.

Marco's mom is back. But she's not Visser One anymore. Marco's not even sure if she's still a Controller, but he's determined to find out. No matter what it takes. No matter what might happen. Marco wants his mom back. Jake and the other Animorphs realize that Marco is under some serious stress. And that the situation with his mom could very well jeopardize everything they've worked for. Now they also have to wonder if Marco will be the one to give away the secret of the Animorphs.

Jake and Tom's maternal great-grandfather dies suddenly. Their mom immediately travels out of state to help make arrangements for the funeral. Jake, Tom, and their father are to follow in two days when their dad can take off from work, and stay for a few days. This, of course, creates a problem for Tom ( who, as we know, is a Controller and needs to get to a Kandrona every three days.)

Rachel is falling apart. Literally. Her newest morph has the ability to regenerate its limbs, but when Rachel demorphs there's a lot more Rachel than when she started out. One more Rachel, to be exact. Rachel is an okay person to have around. But two could be considered overkill. Especially two Rachels with completely opposite personalities: one is pathetically weak; one is super strong and super nasty.

There is an Anti-morphing ray out there. Its purpose: to cause a person in morph to revert to his natural form. And the Yeerks have done a very good job in hiding it. Word from the Chee is that the Yeerks are ready to test the weapon. Just one problem: They don't have a test subject. Yes, they could have Visser Three go into morph and then hit him with the ray. But Yeerk scientists say there's a definite chance that the ray will prove fatal. The Visser isn't volunteering.

Her human name is Eva. There was a time when she had a loving husband and a son, Marco. When she had a wonderful career. But that was before she was infested by Edriss 562. Before the invasion of Earth. Now, Edriss 562 lives in Eva's head and controls her every movement. And through Eva, Edriss has become the highest-ranking general in the Yeerk empire, surpassing even her arch rival, Visser Three.

A single Arn, Quafijinivon, the last member of the race that created the Hork-Bajir has survived. He has seen his entire people wiped out. He has seen the Hork-Bajir enslaved. Now, after a lifetime of planning and plotting, he wants to get his revenge on the Yeerks. And he wants to atone for the problems the Arn have caused. He is old and weak. But he has something the Yeerks have reason to fear: the Ixcila.
