Ruby is a dark-skinned beauty working the lower town of the city as a tavern maid. She dreams of the fast life on the seven seas, of romance and gold and all the treasure she can find. She refuses to die by disease like the rest of the world. It's then that Ruby encounters the captain of a famous pirate crew and she embarks on her new journey across the world. Driven by a passion for treasure and a longing for the captain Ruby finds herself in grave danger amidst the ocean.
Ruby's second journey sees her stranded on a desert island in the middle of the mighty ocean she once longed to go on. Together with one surviving crew member she mourns the loss of her rapid life as a pirate and wonders whether or not she'll ever see her beloved captain again. However, life on the island doesn't prove to be so bad once her and Max start to notice each other. Under the veil of the night sky, listening to the calm ocean waves and looking up at the starlight with flickering flames running beside them, the two share a passionate moment that turns the disaster into a whirlwind romance.
