If you have enjoyed the first two books you should keep on reading! The adventures of Holden and his crew are just as good as in the first two. If you haven't started yet, I highly recommend picking up the first book. Even if you have seen the TV show, the books differ enough that its worth finding out how it all started as you retread the journey. Really excited that Amazon has picked up the TV series to continue it on Amazon Prime in the future. #Audible1

The Expanse series is a fantastic sci-fi adventure and the audiobooks tell the story very well. Production is top notch and Jefferson Mayes performance is outstanding. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a journey into space!

This book moves fast. There is set up in the first 100 pages but then it starts moving and doesn't stop. Certainly not boring, excellent characters and an excellent story! My favorite one so far!

Actually action packed!

Thank goodness it’s Jefferson Mays reading this work. The characters are so eminently deserving of his capable, even-handed reading. After hearing so many other readers basically turn their reading of oppositely-sexed characters into caricatures, it is refreshing and gratifying to hear a male reader who doesn’t lean into a lame head voice to read a strong, capable female character. You feel like he trusts the listener to pick up on the textual cues left by the author to make up their own mind about how high or deep a voice is pitched, rather than mash the voice into submission with gender tropes.
Yes, this is more a Jefferson Mays review than a novel-specific comment, but it goes to show that Hachette made a really good call retaining him for the series. This is my second listen through the books, and I love it even more than the first!
My only beef with the book is that the third act of the book relies somewhat heavily on action set pieces and feels like it goes on forever. I’m sure there is an important point being made about the development of relationships between military superpowers, but the violence feels gratuitous to my palate.

I enjoy the event that propels humanity beyond our Solar system in any science fiction story. It usually is portrayed as a historical note. This series provides that missing link and opens up the universe. I am glad to be reading this story. It keeps getting better and better.

I came expecting Drummer and was pleasantly surprised to get Bull. I liked book Anna a lot more than show Anna as well.

I would prefer to have a full cast but Jeff Mays does a fantastic job. The story is incredible and I can't wait to start the next.
