Description

The Rescue: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience! *

In this heartfelt romance from number one New York Times best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, a daring volunteer fireman rescues a single mom - only to discover that falling in love might be the greatest risk of all.

When confronted by raging fires or deadly accidents, volunteer fireman Taylor McAden feels compelled to take terrifying risks to save lives. But there is one leap of faith Taylor can't bring himself to make: He can't fall in love. For all his adult years, Taylor has sought out women who need to be rescued, women he leaves as soon as their crisis is over and the relationship starts to become truly intimate.

When a raging storm hits his small Southern town, single mother Denise Holton's car skids off the road. The young mom is with her four-year-old son Kyle, a boy with severe learning disabilities and for whom she has sacrificed everything. Taylor McAden finds her unconscious and bleeding, but does not find Kyle. When Denise wakes, the chilling truth becomes clear to both of them. Kyle is gone. During the search for Kyle, a connection between Taylor and Denise takes root. Taylor doesn't know that this rescue will be different from all the others.

Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Background music

Good story but the background music and effects were very distracting and at times made it hard to hear the narrator.

Good story, but didn’t like music

Nicholas Sparks never disappoints. This is another feel good story. However, we disliked the music so much, I exchanged the Booktrack Edition for the regular book.

The rescue

The music drove me crazy! The beginning is great with the storm, then...constant piano scales. I usually don’t mind some music but this goes on for 10 hours! I would listen to an alternate version. The book is good fairly tale ending.

Good book

The book and reader were very good. The music throughout the entire book was extremely distracting as well as the volume which would be quiet and then loud.

Absolutely beautiful story!

Nicholas Sparks did it again, but this one was truly one of my favorites! I didn’t want to put it down and didn’t want it to end.

Book track

I don’t care for the book track versions. I find the music distracting, and does not add to the entertainment factor.

Story spoiled by background music!

I like Nicholas Sparks books usually “Longest Ride” is one of my favorite books. I found this one somewhat depressing. Narrator was ok but BACKGROUND MUSIC WAS HORRIBLE! I was so distracted that it was hard to follow the story.

No more music please

The story is up Sparks usual. The “plummy” music adds nothing. In fact, it detracts from the story!!!!I I won’t listen to any more enhanced books!!

Another Kleenex book!!

The only negative is I could have done without the music in the background. Very distracting.
