À propos de cet audio

Finally reunited with her family, Caly struggles to adjust to her new life and the decisions she made to get there.

After giving up everything for them, she eagerly awaits the ceremony to receive the second half of her heart and become whole, even though it comes at an unsettling cost. She must marry Prince Aurelius and solidify her place within the Seelie Court.

As she prepares for the event, Caly finds herself haunted by the memory of Malum Mendax, the Unseelie Prince—feeling his eyes are on her when she's alone, shadowy silhouettes in her room, and even touching him in her dreams.

What Caly doesn't know is that it's more than just his memory that haunts her. Malum Mendax has returned to punish his pet and those who took her away from him.

What a Twist!!

If you enjoyed the twists and turns of Book 1, get ready for one of the wildest rides of your life.
With that said, and with the enjoyable development of each character, I do have to say that I feel like the pacing of the story blew right past me. I often had to rewind a bit to make sure I hadn't missed any important information. I also feel like a lot of information was often crammed into single scenes or repeated unnecessarily.
The narrators, while pleasant to listen to, often didn't vary much when providing the voices for different characters, and I often had to rewind to make sure I understood which character was saying or doing something.
While I don't see the Infatuated Fae series becoming one of my favorite go-tos, I eagerly await the next book in the series.

An Enthralling Sequel: Deeper Magic and Dark Romance in "What Did You Do?"

“What Did You Do?” surpasses the first book in the Infatuated Fae series with its deeper emotional and magical complexity. Caly’s struggle in the Seelie Realm, haunted by Malum Mendax’s presence, adds suspense and intrigue. O’Riley masterfully blends dark romance and fantasy, making this a compelling read with rich character development and thrilling twists. It’s a must-read for fans and a standout sequel that left me eagerly anticipating the next installment.

Awaiting the release of book 3

It gets much spicier than book 1. Part of the plot I did see coming, and a plot twist that I did not.

Why Did I Read?

See what I did there, with the title of my review? Haha. But really though, one of these books was bad enough, but a second? And now I have no choice but to listen to the rest? Oh my stars (cringe).

The plot is fine I guess. The audio is fine, but excessively cringy at times. But these characters... so played out. But usually written better. The virginal, innocent FMC who is of course, a Disney princess when it comes to animals, but then also somehow a huge slut and an absolute killer in the sack (and other realms)? Wow, who saw that coming? The broody, temperamental MMC with zero character development or personality? Wow, another curveball. The way these books and characters are written makes me roll my eyes almost constantly. Like, why are Cali and Mendax even interested in each other? They're hot? Okay. There is no development to their relationship beyond that. Everything is "primal" and "uncontrollable." Also found FMC to be extremely unlikable, "I'm biologist Barbie, teehee. I had a rough childhood and all the boys like me and I'm super tiny but don't let that fool you, hehe, I'm a highly trained assassin! Why aren't I killing people or doing well in trying situations? Great question. The only thing that I can really depend on in this world or any world, is SCIENCE. Did I mention I LOVE science [insert ridiculous random science knowledge babble here]." She is also "in love" with a different guy every 5 minutes and the dramatic "how could I be so foolish!" woe is me, back and forth bullshit is annoying af. I could rage on, but what's the point? I can't quit a series midway, so I'll suffer through the rest.

This book was so bad, but encourages me to believe I could write a book in 3 days and blow up on tiktok.
