À propos de cet audio
"Richard saw the point of a sword blade sticking out from between the man's shoulder blades. He spun back toward Richard after throwing the woman out of the opening, ready to attack. It seemed impossible, but the man looked unaffected by the blade that had impaled him through the chest.
"It was then, in the weak light from the fire pit off to the side, that Richard got his first good look at the killer.
"Three knives were buried up to their brass cross guards in the man's chest. Only the handles were showing. Richard saw, too, the broken end of a sword blade jutting out from the center of the man's chest. The point of that same blade stuck out from the man’s back.
"Richard recognized the knife handles. All three were the style carried by the men of the First File.
"He looked from those blades that should have killed the big man, up to his face. That was when he realized the true horror of the situation, and the reason for the unbearable stench of death."
Sequel to the #1 New York Times best seller The Omen Machine.

From the internationally best-selling author of the Sword of Truth series comes a new Richard and Kahlan novella. "They are the monsters under the bed when you are little, the shape just caught out of the corner of your eye when you thought you were alone, the shadow of something in a dark corner that surprises you and then isn't there. They stop you dead with a knot of unexpected terror in the pit of your stomach. I think that the star shift has brought us closer to their realm so that they now have the power to step into our world and hurt us."

Meh. It's fine
Un problème est survenu. Veuillez réessayer dans quelques minutes.
I have to admit I was skeptical starting this book not being terribly impressed with the Omen Machine. However, once I got into the story it really felt like a worthy addition to the series and was just as moving as when I read some of earlier books for the first time that I loved like Temple of the Winds, Chainfire, etc.
Yes Goodkind can be repetitive, cheesy and predictable at times but it's hard to completely forgive these points when other aspects of the story are so mezmerizingly beautiful and profound. The sense of character development, redemption, and the nature of magic will draw you in wholly just like his previous books. What Goodkind does well, he does extremely well and this book is another testament to that fact.
The subplots surrounding the personal stories of Sam(antha) and Cara here are somehow so profoundly moving that several times I had to stop reading because to my surprise I wasn't just teary but balling my eyes out all of a sudden which is something I hadn't done in many years.
There's just something that's hard to define that caused me to be completely pulled in to the story and concerned about the characters like they were my real life friends.
WORTH READING IF YOU LIKED HIS OLDER BOOKS

Overall an enjoyable read or listen.
Having Sam Tsoutsouvas as narrator again also helps to build on the detail that Goodkind wrote.
Some of the same but with a twist.
