À propos de cet audio

Those of us who have lost children and loved ones are grieving in silence. The average time off for bereavment is only three days. Life is expected to go on as if nothing happened. There is an expectation to move on and not bring up our dead child's name.

This podcast offers comfort for people who have lost children. We will break the silence and share our difficulties with living without our beloved children. But we don't just share difficulties, our stories are also bound up in hope!Copyright Jimmy and Clara Hinton

  • Episode 45 | Our hearts go out to the Texas flood victims
    Jul 8 2025
The Texas floods on July 4th were a horrific chain of events that led to loss of life and dozens of missing people. One of the hardest hit locations was at Camp Mystic, an all-girls camp with 750 campers located on the Guadalupe River. The camp is grieving the loss of 27 campers and counselors. It's a pain that too many parents are familiar with--the pain of suddenly losing your child.

In this episode, we share our compassion and talk about why this story has resonated with all of this nation. Our hearts grieve this deep, deep loss and our prayers are with the many families who are now grieving the death of family members.

When you've lost a child, the last thing you want to hear about is creating a "new normal." We don't want a new life; we want the one we had with our child. The resistance is real, and the path forward seems impossible. But what if the goal isn't closure, but something quieter and more gentle?

In this episode of the Silent Grief Podcast, we talk through the tender and difficult steps of finding a way forward after the unimaginable. We acknowledge that it's up to us to take the first step, but also that our hearts will let us know when it's time.

This journey will never bring you a feeling of closure, but as we share in this episode, it can bring you to a place of quiet peace.

  • Episode 43 | You're not broken, you're surviving--The reality of child loss
    Jun 24 2025
In this deeply honest episode of The Silent Grief Podcast, we explore what it’s like to live in survival mode after the devastating loss of a child. This conversation reaches into the raw realities of grief that no one talks about—feeling numb, struggling to breathe, pushing through daily tasks while the world keeps moving forward.

We talk about the emotional exhaustion and constant effort it takes just to get through the day. For many grieving parents, “thriving” feels like an unreachable idea, and simply surviving is the most they can manage. We also touch on the importance of acknowledging your pain, learning how to function when joy feels out of reach, and recognizing that grief isn’t linear.

Whether you’ve experienced this kind of loss or want to better understand someone who has, this episode offers a space of compassion, validation, and truth. You're not alone—and there's no shame in surviving one breath at a time.
