In this episode, we’re leaving behind prisons and ghost towns to meet Pennsylvania’s saddest cryptid: The Squonk.

Born from the lumberjack tall tales of the early 1900s, the Squonk is said to wander the hemlock forests of northern Pennsylvania. It’s described as a shy, wart-covered creature with saggy, ill-fitting skin, and the most unfortunate habit of crying nonstop. In fact, it’s so ashamed of its appearance that if cornered, it doesn’t fight or flee. Instead…it dissolves into a puddle of tears.

But the Squonk’s story isn’t just folklore. It’s seeped into pop culture too. From rock songs by Genesis and Steely Dan, to quirky festivals like Squonkapalooza in Johnstown, this little cryptid of sorrow has become a symbol of embracing imperfection and finding community in the weird and wonderful.

So grab a tissue, because this time our monster isn’t terrifying; it’s tragic. And maybe, just maybe, a little relatable.

Join us as we follow the tear-streaked trail of the Squonk through Pennsylvania’s forests and folklore.

In this episode, we’re heading up to the Texas Panhandle to explore the haunted history of Amarillo, a city where the past echoes loud and clear. First, we visit The Nat, once a dance hall and now home to eerie footsteps and ghostly figures who never left the party. Then it’s on to the towering Santa Fe Building, where strange sounds and phantom elevator rides have left employees uneasy for decades. We’ll creep through the halls of the old St. Anthony’s Hospital, where reports of ghostly nurses and disembodied voices still linger long after the last patient checked out. And finally, we make our way to the ghost town of Old Tascosa and its Boot Hill Cemetery, once a Wild West hotbed of shootouts, lawmen, and restless spirits.

Amarillo may look quiet on the surface, but these haunted spots tell a much darker story.

In this episode, we’re stepping inside one of the most infamous, and most haunted, prisons in the world: Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. Once hailed as the most advanced prison of its time, Eastern State opened in 1829 as an experiment in solitary confinement. Inmates lived in total isolation, forced to wear hoods, and kept under constant “watch” through skylights nicknamed the Eye of God. The idea was repentance and reform, but the reality was mental breakdown, despair, and cruelty. Even Charles Dickens, after visiting, condemned it as “immeasurably worse than any torture of the body.”

Through the decades, Eastern State housed over 75,000 prisoners, including the notorious Al Capone, and became known for harsh punishments, riots, and violence. It closed in 1971, but many believe the spirits of those who suffered there never left. Visitors and staff report shadow figures slipping along the walls, disembodied voices, ghostly faces, and cold spots that chill you to the bone. Paranormal investigators have captured eerie EVPs, unexplained whispers, and apparitions in cellblocks long empty of life.

Today, Eastern State is a historic site and museum, but it’s also considered one of the most haunted places in America. Whether you’re there for the history, the ghost tours, or the legendary Halloween Nights, one thing’s for sure: behind those crumbling walls, the past isn’t done speaking.

Step inside with us…if you dare.

In this episode, we’re heading to the haunted shores of Galveston, Texas—one of the most paranormally active spots on the Gulf Coast. First stop: Walmart. Yep, you heard that right. The Seawall Walmart was built on top of a Civil War-era quarantine site, and shoppers have reported chilling encounters in the aisles. Then we head to UTMB, where the ghostly “Face in the Window” has left locals and visitors alike doing a double take.

Next up is the iconic Hotel Galvez, where a woman in white, known as the "Lovelorn Lady," is said to haunt the halls, waiting for a ship that never came back. Then it’s off to Ashton Villa, where the spirit of Miss Bettie Brown still makes her presence known during tours and in photographs. Finally, we wrap things up at the Moody Mansion, where former residents may not be as “former” as you’d think.

Galveston is beautiful, historic, and...full of ghosts. Come for the ocean breeze, stay for the goosebumps.

Welcome to Pennsylvania, Andi’s home state, and the launch point for our next haunted series. Known as the Keystone State, Pennsylvania has been at the center of American history from the very beginning. In 1681, King Charles II granted William Penn a stretch of land that became Penn’s Woods, a place built on ideas of freedom, faith, and fairness. From the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia, to the blood-soaked fields of Gettysburg, to the booming steel mills of Pittsburgh, this state has seen revolution, tragedy, and transformation.

But beneath that rich history runs something darker—stories whispered along old trails, hidden in forgotten towns, and carried on the wind through thick forests and quiet valleys.

Today, we head to one of those places: Livermore, Pennsylvania. Once a thriving canal and railroad town along the Conemaugh River, Livermore was repeatedly ravaged by floods before finally being drowned forever when the Conemaugh Dam created a reservoir in the 1950s. All that remains above water is the cemetery, perched on a hill, and a legacy of unsettling tales.

Locals whisper of a witch’s curse that doomed the town, phantom trains glowing green as they rush through the night, and a Native guardian spirit watching from the woods. Others talk about a hulking creature with red eyes stalking hikers, strange chanting in the trees, and footsteps that follow you even when you’re alone. Visitors report flickering flashlights, dogs growling at empty air, and an eerie stillness that makes the hair on your neck stand up.

The town itself is gone, but its stories…and maybe its spirits…linger.

Join us as we kick off our Pennsylvania series in Andi’s own backyard, and step into the haunted history of Livermore.

  • Shipwreck Museum and Key West Cemetery
    Jul 22 2025

    Send us a text

In this episode, we wrap up our Key West series with two of the island’s most fascinating (and haunted) locations.

First, we head to the Key West Shipwreck Museum, a towering recreation of Asa Tift’s 19th‑century wrecking warehouse. Here, artifacts pulled from doomed ships like the Isaac Allerton are on display. Many believed to carry spirits along with them. Visitors report shadows, phantom footsteps, and the eerie presence of up to 13 ghosts, including the terrifying figure known as Daddy Long Legs, a spindly shadow creature seen crawling across walls and ceilings in the museum’s old cistern basement. And every year on July 1st, strange alarms, apparitions, and unexplained events mark the anniversary of a tragic death atop the museum’s 65‑foot observation tower. Add in a rumored cursed silver bar from a 1600s shipwreck, and you’ve got yourself one unforgettable haunted stop.

Then we make our way to the Key West Cemetery, a sprawling 19 acres of history and mystery where over 100,000 souls rest, outnumbering the living locals by four to one. It’s a place of eclectic monuments, legendary epitaphs, and ties to so many figures we’ve mentioned throughout this series: lighthouse keepers, wreckers, sea captains, and even Robert the Doll’s family. But the cemetery isn’t just history. It’s alive with ghost stories! Some visitors hear a playful little girl’s voice asking them to follow her to her grave, while others encounter the intimidating spirit of a Bahamian woman who fiercely protects the grounds.

It’s the perfect place to end our journey through haunted Key West: a museum filled with relics of tragedy and a cemetery where the island’s stories truly rest. Or… maybe not.

So, what do you think? Will you climb the tower at the Shipwreck Museum? Wander the rows of Key West Cemetery? Or maybe… see if one of these ghosts is willing to say hello.

Thanks for joining us for our Key West series! Stay tuned! More haunted adventures are just around the corner. Next up, we are heading to our home states, Texas and Pennsylvania!
