I can't take it anymore. This curse, this undead curse… It makes it so every moment is nothing but pure torment. I need to keep busy, to take my mind off of it and alleviate the pain. More than that, I need to find a way to rebuild my powers after I was tricked by my own allies, slain, and reborn. I can't return to the human lands yet. The pact of non-aggression still stands. This leads me to accept a contract that will bring me to the land of the Witch Elves. A place where great dangers lurk—demons and abominations— but also tremendous power.

I can't believe it! I've really been accepted into the Royal Scouts? For real? It's a dream come true for a farm boy like myself, to gain access to the Portal Halls and be able to explore the worlds beyond. More than that, it means I can finally provide for my family. And if I may be at a disadvantage compared to other recruits, as all I know is how to grow beans, I plan on boosting my skills as soon as possible.

When I was summoned to the family estate, I had no idea that my life was about to take a drastic turn. When I climbed out to the surface this morning, to scavenge some food for my village, I knew the odds were severely stacked against me. A mere nurse, I had no business going out into the sun, where all kinds of monstrosities roamed. As if to prove my fears right, I was only out in the open for a few minutes when a pack of Kinru spotted me. I was quickly cornered. In a desperate attempt to defend myself, I managed to hurt one in the face...right before the creature was snatched by an even bigger monster. Then everything became a blur. And when I came to, I wasn't the same anymore.

It was no small feat but Arthur, aka Brick Breaker, managed to pass the Combine and earn the right to keep his powers. And so, his work as a superhero may finally begin, with his team, the Eon City Champions. Their first mission sounds easy enough: rid the Climb of all the baddies squatting in the abandoned housing projects, and they'll get to keep the building as their new headquarters.

As if things couldn't get any worse, Arthur is trying to survive yet another dreadful shift at the Hammy Burger when a supervillain barges in and takes him as a hostage. It's clear, from the get-go, that this villain is a poor schmuck who just happened on a dose of ChemX. And so, in an attempt to save the poor bastard from the consequences of his foolish actions, Arthur tries to convince him to surrender. But when the caped cavalry arrives, something happens and Arthur is exposed to a leak of the mysterious chemical substance.

Unless you’re like me: a little too carefree, and take a nap that ends up lasting a few thousand years. You can imagine my surprise when I woke up to find that the face of Liora had changed entirely. Gone was the dominion of elves over the world. I had landed right into a period of intense land grab, where Champions were fighting to stake their claim. For any regular chump, this might have seemed like the worst time to resurface, but I’ve lived a long life, and where others see peril, I see opportunity.
