Men det er også en roman om at gå på druk eller gå i hundene og mest af alt ligne en vagabond eller landstryger. Således er bogen en hyldest til det frie liv og til kunstneren som outsider.

Folk music of the 1960s and 1970s was a genre that was always shifting and expanding, yet somehow never found room for so many.
