Comparative History

A child was born two thousand years ago in a little village called Bethlehem. His birth fulfilled over 300 Old Testament scripture verses prophesying this event. Hundreds of people, royal ambassadors, kings, angels, shepherd priests, and countless others were in attendance to herald this event. Over the decades, the details have become obscured. What we celebrate in our churches at Christmas is not close to the actual details that took place. My favorite example is the innkeeper role in the annual play. What was his name? It doesn't matter; he did not exist. He is just a made up character.

With relentless media coverage, breathtaking events, and extraordinary congressional and independent investigations, it is hard to believe that we still might not know some of the most significant facts about the presidency of George W. Bush. Yet beneath the surface events of the Bush presidency lies a secret history, a series of hidden events that makes a mockery of current debate.

Henry Mulford Tichenor (1858 - 1922) was a writer and journalist, who was a very active free thinker in the early Twentieth Century. A special target of Tichenor was organized religion, which he viewed as an absurdly contrived cultural artefact. In The Olympian Gods he applies a critical scalpel to the religion of the ancient Greeks, which he regarded as an obvious precursor to Christianity.

The Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Victoria was celebrated with great pomp and show in June 1897 throughout British India. Since the purpose of the advent of the Promised Messiah (as) was to propagate the Unity of God and his message, he found a way to serve those objectives at that occasion. He published the booklet Tohfa-e-Qaisariyyah on May 25, 1897.

The modern world has been marked by a series of immense social revolutions that have transformed the states where they happened.
