Babylon first became important in the 18th century BCE under the rule of King Hammurabi. It barely survived his death before it was conquered, first by the Hittites and then by the Assyrians. عندما تسمع بكلمة (البطريركية) فما الذي يخطر ببالك؟ قسٌّ أو راهب؟ مبنى عملاق بنقوش ذهبية؟ جميعنا كذلك فهذه الكلمة بالأصل لو انتقلنا إلى ترجمتها الحرفية سنجدها تعني الأب الرئيس أمّا من حيث المعنى فهي تُشير إلى ذلك النظام المعتمد على سلطة الأب وفي المسيحية فهي تمثل مكان اقامة ومكتب رئيس الأساقفة لذا لا تُذهل عندما تخبرك هذه الرواية ب: " أمّا البطريركية نفسها فكانت عبارة عن هنجر حديدي عملاق، تحيط به حظائر مسورة بشباك معدنية، تقبع داخلها مانيكانات نسائية من خشب...!! سنتدرب أمام تلك المانيكانات المستسلمة حينما تبدأ فترة تمريننا !!
