I've seen every square inch of Violet Eatons delectable body, and she has no idea who I am. Until now. What happened between us online, in our chats, was meant to stay anonymous and in the past. Until it didn't.
It's a small world, but Ruby Creek is even smaller. When I move to the tiny town, the grumpy façade I've created slips when we're forced to live under the same roof. Every flush of her cheeks, every time her eyes flare with heat, every time she begs me not to stop, the ice I've encased myself in melts. She has me wanting things I can't want. Things I've been dreaming about since I first laid eyes on her two years ago. Things I don't deserve.
But my invisible wounds have the power to ruin us both. As a former soldier, I should have the discipline to walk away, but the more I open up to Violet, the more I want to keep her. I came back from the war a different man, but my scars are older and deeper than anyone knows, and I planned to keep it that way. I planned to keep my secrets hidden. Until her.

Violet moved to BC from Alberta to give herself some independence from her overprotective brothers. She loves her job working on the racehorse ranch. She loves her job even more now being a jockey.
Cole is one of the owners of the ranch and basically has an RBF. He's angry at the world (for good reason) and stays very closed off from people. That is until he realizes who Violet really is when she's in the winner's circle from her big first race.
This story goes back and forth in time. We have flash backs to how these main characters met and how their story all comes together. It was so good, the perfect grumpy/sunshine romance. I didn't want it to end! Can't wait for other books in the series to be released on audio!

This was my first listen and third read of this book, and honestly, it still hits just as hard in the feels as the first time I read it!
Connor and Vanessa are my favourite male and female narrators and I love them together. I really enjoyed the flashbacks where they voiced their own chat messages despite the narration style being dual. Had it had been done in duet, it would have been absolutely perfect!

My Third Read (First Listen) - I’m Never Moving On

I knew Elsie wouldn’t do me wrong. After all those Eaton boys, I finally read Violet’s story, and I loved it! Violet & Cole were the most prefect balance for one another!
They way their secret time together unfolded into their present day was so well done. Cole’s grumpy exterior made so much sense after all he endured, but the way Violet broke down his walls melted my heart.
As always, the spice delivered in every way! The rest of the characters were so well developed and I can’t wait to continue the series.
