Story
Action-packed from the start, Hidden Order demonstrates yet again why Brad Thor is the "master of thrillers". A string of high-profile kidnappings has Washington, D.C., in a frenzy. When the victims begin turning up dead, frenzy turns to panic. And when the ransom demand is finally made public, panic will turn to terror. In Brad Thor's riveting new thriller, the stakes have never been higher, nor the lines between good and evil so hard to discern.

Publisher's Summary
"Thor tops himself again and again." (BookReporter.com)
"Feels like the TV show 24 on the page." (The Associated Press)
Includes an extended behind-the-scenes conversation with author Brad Thor and narrator Armand Schultz.
Number-one New York Times best-selling author Brad Thor presents his greatest thriller ever—an action-packed literary tour de force!
Hidden deep within one of the world's most powerful organizations is a secret committee with a devastating agenda. Its members are afforded incredible protections—considered elites, untouchables.
But when four seconds of video is captured halfway around the world and anonymously transmitted to DC, covert wheels are set in motion, and counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath is tapped to undertake the deadliest assignment of his career.
What begins as a favor will evolve into a globe-spanning drama of highly personal stakes played out against a backdrop of stunning international intrigue, duplicitous political gamesmanship, and the darkest, most clandestine fears of the espionage world.
With razor-sharp plotting, richly rendered characters, and heart-stopping surprises on every page, Thor isn't just at the top of his game—he owns the entire genre.

Good...but cliché packed
This kept me engaged...BUT...the writing was a little cliche heavy and I just couldn't get past the scene in the Congo with the ridiculous Decker-sexy-lingerie-hazmat-suit-jungle-dead-people-outbreak-oh-let's-get-naked-in-makeshift-shower scene. Honestly...that took gratuitous naked lady seduction scenes to a new level of absurdity. I laughed out loud.

Excellent as always
Brad Thor does a wonderful job of keeping you on the edge of your seat. He makes you stop and wonder, what if? The scary thing is what he writes could come true. Armand Schultz is an excellent narrator, he doesn't just read Scot Harvath, he is Scot Harvath! I look forward to his readings, he brings all the characters to life. The Thor/Armand pairing is a recipe for success. If you're interested in espionage and fly by the seat of your pants action, I highly recommend this book.

Riveting as always
I loved this novel, I was frustrated in the beginning cause my wife was in labor and I needed to focus on my wife and not listen to this book :) But after my family obligations were taken care of I couldn't turn it off. With the usual roller coaster ride Scot goes through to protect this country and the ones he loves, I know this is fiction, but the scenarios Brad Thor guides us through in his novels are so real it's hard to not feel as if you are part of the story. Urging the characters along to find the solutions. I am a fan for life, Brad we do need another Athena Series Novel

Tight, fast paced fun
The story moves along quickly, jumping from location to location and character to character. It's easy to keep track, though. That Scot Horvath is a killing machine. Some of it felt a little over the top at times, but it still a fun read. Worth the credit.

Huge Drop Off
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
1 - Without spoiling it, story jumps around a bit too much and plot goes well beyond other books in terms of the bad guy and what he has in store for the world. This one jumps the shark for sure. I know every book cant be about stopping the "religion of peace," but this one is truly out there. While possible, far too many things need to line up.
2 - While I enjoy, author's comments at the end, 30 minutes is far too much when you are trying to gauge how much of the book you have left.
What could Brad Thor have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Stop reading Ted Bell who jumped the shark three books ago.
Any additional comments?
Armand as good as it gets for all voices/characters. I just wish it was better material.

Thor keeps getting better
The five star limitation is an issue with Code of Conduct. All of Thor's Scott Harvath series have been 5 stars or better. This book is the best yet.
Armand Schultz does his usual superb job of narration. I also enjoyed the Schultz-Thor interview at the end of the narration.

I really liked this book. Very entertaining. I also hadn't read any of Brad Thor's books before with the lead character but couldn't tell that, so I like that it can stand alone.
