Publisher's Summary

From the best-selling author of The Marriage Lie and Three Days Missing comes a riveting new novel of suspense about a woman who, in a fight for survival, must decide just how far she’ll go to escape the person she once loved

Beth Murphy is on the run....

For nearly a year, Beth has been planning for this day. A day some people might call any other Wednesday, but Beth prefers to see it as her new beginning - one with a new look, new name, and new city. Beth has given her plan significant thought, because one small slip and her violent husband will find her.

Sabine Hardison is missing....

A couple hundred miles away, Jeffrey returns home from a work trip to find his wife, Sabine, is missing. Wherever she is, she’s taken almost nothing with her. Her abandoned car is the only evidence the police have, and all signs point to foul play.

As the police search for leads, the case becomes more and more convoluted. Sabine’s carefully laid plans for her future indicate trouble at home and a husband who would be better off with her gone. The detective on the case will stop at nothing to find out what happened and bring this missing woman home. Where is Sabine? And who is Beth? The only thing that’s certain is that someone is lying, and the truth won’t stay buried for long.

Fast paced and fun read...

I enjoyed this audiobook, couldn’t stop playing it. Liked the different first person narrative point of views. The writing is to the point and not repetitive, and not very technical making it easy to follow the story line.

Great story & execution

Wow, great story! Fast-paced with great characters who were pretty realistic. For approx 5 hrs I couldn't predict the twist coming near the end.

Deducting 1 star for the narrator who portrayed Jeffrey. The other 2 narrators were fantastic and seemed to understand their audience's needs. I listen to audiobooks while driving, vacuuming, puttering in the kitchen and showering. From I understand, most people do. So a constant-volume, even-toned voice works best for this. The "Jeffrey" narrator's overacting made it impossible to hear his dialogue properly. Extreme highs and lows, yelling and mumbling..... it seems he thinks we listen to audiobooks in a perfectly quiet room, while doing nothing else. He portrayed Jeffrey's character well, but my constant rewinding to hear what he was saying took me out of the story. Otherwise, the audiobook would have been 5 stars.

Entertaining.. but could’ve skipped some & added some

I really did like this book, but I felt a little cheated. Some books drag on and on, but for me, this one kind of failed to dig in the claws and fully develop the characters, and then dragged on in other areas. It did, however, keep me listening and had a good twist that I didn’t see coming. If you like a somewhat short & “to the point” thriller, this is perfect for you.

Wow

This book is a combination of Sleeping with the Enemy and Rose Madder by Stephen King. Great book. The narrators were fabulous! The voice of Jeff made me laugh out loud more than once—-well written book!

Freaking awesome!

So the big surprise didn’t surprise me, I guess that’s the writer in me. But it doesn’t matter if you know it or not, it’s still a freaking awesome book!!!! Gripping and intense from the beginning. Great all the way through. Perfection. I hope to one day write a book at least half this good.

Dear Wife<br />

This is my first book by this author. I will definitely get another one. Interesting and I never got bored or skipped further along. This is a credit worthy book.

Wow

So glad I got this book. I’ve had trouble finding things that will hold my attention but this did it. Thank you to the author!! I enjoyed this so much. It kept me guessing right up until the twist was given to me. After it was revealed it still kept me going. You can’t go wrong with this.

Great book

The story was fantastic, but I was disappointed at the performance. Her "Latina" accent sounded more Irish than Mexican. It pulled me out of the story a bit, which the narration should never do. Otherwise, great listen.

Nice twist but weirdly distant

Nice twisty story that was entertaining but didn’t quite get into characters enough. Felt rushed or just not fully baked.

Fresh with A Great Plot & A Twist

Narration was superb and the story line kept me engaged. The story was done so well that you can listen along and still be entertained or if you’re one of those that like to pay extra close attention to the clues the writer drops to figure out the ending you can do that and still be just as pleased with the outcome. This is my first story from this author and plan to listen to more.
