Publisher's Summary
Nor was once the happy daughter of a miller, but that was before her father died in the Southern War and soldiers set fire to her village. Now, she's a 17-year-old swindler, performing whatever tricks and deceptions will bring in enough coin to feed her and her brothers. One day she finds a faerie boy being held captive by outlaws. Though Nor knows all the tales of the fay and their deadly blood magic, she goes against her better judgement and frees him. In return, the beautiful and mysterious faerie, Pel, gifts her with a golden thread.
Nor decides to use the thread to convince local villages that she can spin straw into gold, but just as the con begins, Prince Casper arrives in town. Seeing through her deception, Casper intends to make an example of Nor, forcing her to spin all her straw into gold, with the promise of marrying her should she succeed. But should she fail, her life and those of her brothers will be forfeit. In desperation, Nor calls on Pel for help, even knowing that his dark magic comes with a price.
From thief to future queen, Nor's story has only just begun. Attacks from the fay force Nor to question her friendship with Pel, while preparing for her life as a queen makes Nor wonder if this is the life she truly wants to lead.

Wonderful Story!
This book took the classic fairy tale and through me into a breathtaking new story and world. They way the magic works is a brilliant new twist to the story. Loved every bit of it, even if some things seem a bit predictable and I can guess ahead about the future but can't wait to see how that it is revealed if I am correct come next book. The main character was refreshing because her personality and morals were not just straight cut and selfless- though she has a good intentions - she is also more human and complicated with her actions both selfish and selfless than any character I've read in a book recently, she stumbles and makes mistakes but under all she trying her best to take care of her family through such choice even if her devious wit can get ahead of her sometimes. She alway grows as characters because of others around her and starts to see things from more than just one point of veiw.. I cannot wait till the next book comes out. And will definitely be buying a physical copy to put on my shelf.
