WHAT THE HELL!?!

is with all these high reviews! I tried for hours and hours to get into this book! I gave it more of a shot than any previous title that I was on the fence about and it STILL fails to deliver!

this book is horrible, if you want to spend hours upon hours of listening to absolutely useless dialogue that serves no purpose in forwarding the story this is a book for you. the author actually skips much needed fights in favor of usless side charracter banter seriously **** this book! what a waste of time. I'm at the 10hr mark and nothing significant has happened. it's so God damn frustrating!

Highly recommended

Absolutely love the implementation of the magic system. Couldn't put it down. Went through both books in 6 days while driving.

I don't write reviews but...

This is some great stuff. I've read a couple hundred sci-fi/fantasy books and this is not to be understated

I have read a little bit of LitRPG before and the reviews for this were great so I thought I'd give it a try while waiting for other authors I follow to get some more dang books out.

If you're not sure about LitRPG lemme tell you something. It's just regular old sci-fi/fantasy but with maps, inventories, actual stats for spells and literal character development.

The characters are clearly identified and I appreciate the subtle (and not so subtle) traits which define them. Minor characters are memorable and main characters are built up brick by brick. You will see hints of what to come, powerful characters nonchalantly doing amazing things, though there are real stakes as this is seemingly no video game.

The narrator does an amazing job with the multitude of characters as well. Nailing tough accents and even other worldly characters have a unique cadence and enunciation. In other works, I sometimes find it difficult to keep track of many different characters since I've read so much. Here I find due to great writing and excellent narration characters are very easy to remember and every new interaction builds them up in my mind; even minor characters.

It's not what I expected and is all in all a very charming and a really well written adventure. Book 2 is really great so far too!

Disappointing

I really enjoyed the first book and was looking forward to the second.
I shouldn't have bothered as this one was a snooze fest. I kept waiting for something engaging to happen but it never did. If I had been reading this I would have put it down after the first chapter. 🥱

JUST DON'T

This entire series is a basement dweller’s masturbatory fantasy of what being a cool guy must look like. You can smell the mountain dew and Cheeto dust on this verified neckbeard of an author from the very start.

Be prepared to be not just exposed to the most juvenile aspects of modern wokeness, but absolutely bludgeoned with them at every moment! This book has got it all: obnoxiously pc language, socialist fantasies, open anti-white racism, feminaziism - it’s truly an homage to purple-haired screeching the world over!

Do your self a favour, engage in Matt Dinniman's DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL series if you like this genre. Still incredibly woke but at least the politics aren't the first and only priority.

Just wow

Even better than the first one! The trials, the new character that are still very different but fun and engaging! Jason being Jason. Love it!

Can’t wait to see what happens next! Characters are well defined and relatable. Storyline is easy to follow but yet very in depth. Please keep the adventures coming!!!

an awesome listen

this book really builds on the previous one. there are one or two moments that are repeated, from early in the story, but the story dosen't suffer too much from the extra. The magic system is fascinating and diverse, the characters all have depth and have wonderful flaws. I'm excited to see where the story leads
