Publisher's Summary

We all fail. We all fall. We all need to know how to get back up. Few know this better than New York Times best-selling author Neil Pasricha. Before selling over a million copies of his Book of Awesome series and touring the world to teach Fortune 500 CEOs, Ivy league deans, and members of the royal family how to unlock a positive mind-set, Pasricha’s life hit rock bottom. In this Audible Original, you'll hear for the first time Neil's very personal story of failure and resilience - and you'll learn how you, too, can find the strength to get back up.

Behind the Scenes with Neil Pasricha

The problem with the self-help industry, Neil explains, is that ''we aren't sharing the grey stories — the stories in between the lines of the big, high-milestone moments that are on the cover of every greeting card.''

Not his best work- a long autobiography

I’m a HUGE fan of Neil’s books but this one missed the mark. I had to stop at Ch. 5 at the two hour mark couldn’t listen anymore. It’s full of very very very long drawn out stories with tons on irrelevant details and tangents with very little advice or point to the story. The first 30 mins is on Indian culture, customs and food. His books, The Happiness Equation and You are Awesome are both much better and provide the exact same stories, tips and points but in a more succinct and palatable way.

More of a biography than motivation

This book is overhyped
Im 4 chapters in and its mostly about his upbringing i’m also from his ethnicity and my upbringing is similar so i can relate but I didn’t download this to hear about his upbringing in Canada I wanted more motivational strong facts to get ahead in life I got depressed hearing it so far

I couldn't stop listening

I loved that it was raw and as much as he was reading it felt as if he was just telling me about his life over coffee. so glad I made the choice for this one. I adopted a few tidbits. great book

A waste of time

I know that might sound harsh, but this didn’t bring me as much value as I hoped it would. Very disappointing purchase. :(

Great message - Failure is OK. Become Resilent

This was an easy book to listen to. Lots of great nuggets as takeaways. I recommend this book to anyone struggling with failure and the inability to get back up and face the adversity. Jeffrey (Jeff) C. Marr

Great story

Thank you, Neil for sharing your story. I’m on that dark and twisty path of self discovery and your memoir has provided me with some courage, hope, feeling that I’m totally normal, and some laughs! Also, Oshawa in the house! 🙌🏻

Love the realness!

Loved the transparency Neil is serving up here. ESPECIALLY chapter 11 where he digs into all of his personal failures that eventually set him up for success. Literally laughed out loud at all the obscure website ideas that tanked. Bullshit-free and full of relatable anecdotes and realness!
