Publisher's Summary

For years, the ancient alien AI known as Skippy (the Magnificent, don’t forget that part) has been able to do one impossible thing after another. What is his secret? It’s simple: 100 percent Grade-A extreme awesomeness. And also because he had never been faced with an opponent of equal power. Until now.

This time, he might need a little help from a band of filthy monkeys.

Keep the Awesomeness Coming

I've been listening to this series from Book 1, and there has never been a doubt that the next book will not be better then the last. Match Game didn't disappoint. Some monkey needs to make this into a Movie or TV series. R. C. Bray as the voice of Skippy, of course.

Matchgame wowza

This book was a great addition to the series, gave us a bit to detail into the lives of a few characters and opens up some divergent points for other stories.

The misdirection was great and credence to the writers for keeping the readers guessing about what going to happen next. It will be interesting how the beetles and the good lizards react to the now world.

Koodoos to RC for another great performance.

okish

This is a decent continuation of the story but it felt like it was spinning it's wheels a lot more in this one. While I don't mind some backstory we didn't need quite as much as we got.

The ending of an era in the Expeditionary Force

This is the final book? In a series of books, that will take you on a journey along with Joe Bishop, Skippy and the Mary band of pirates. I highly recommend this series, and if you haven’t experienced it yet go back to book one and start there. This series is highly entertaining, and contains Easter eggs in every book that references pop-culture in science fiction throughout in a very smooth way. That will make you smile, but the storylines will take you on an action, packed adventure of self discovery, relationships, and a whole lot of humour.

"oh shut up"

This book is a fantastic continuation of the series. the story is amazing and the performance is again legendary. only one problem when Skippy and Bishop are bickering they always tell each other "oh shut up" so many times throughout this book.

All in all it's a must read

Not as Advertised

Sadly not as advertised. The events just... fell flat. It felt like we've been cheated and not in a way that the ECO would have liked. Good story, Fantastic narration. Slow. I'm disappointed by this one.

a solid schmabey

ok... super spoilers below....

overall it was good, not fantastic , but a good continuation of the story. certainly some LOLz , definitely oceans 11/ the sting influences.

after my 2nd listen I've come to realize the oceans 11/ sting should never have been narrated by Joe in first person. in his mind he was playing the scam and it really should have been a 3rd person narration

I know it's supposed to be Joe lying his ass off, but in an internal monologue you don't lie to yourself... you repeat the lie

I know whiny and literary, but really I think it should have been done that way

after the 2nd listen I enjoyed it much more, but knowing Joe was not part of his own lie and external to his own deception as a narrator is always inthe background

in the end, you won't be disappointed but you won't be blown away... IMO.

looking forward to number 15

predictions for 15, afterall I did make the call as skippy working like a service dog for Joe

Margaret gets pregnant.... Joe commits and marries her (skippy eluded to he and her having unprotected sex)

I think major characters will leave or be killed off, a lot of connection with Fray /reid

mammay becomes XO and gets his own ship potentially valkyrie.

Joe takes a spider ship and rockets into the sunset with skippy to sort out galactic assholes

tough call here but I think some of the mavericks are killed off, potentially Margaret and Joe is left as a single dad

jaguar no longer protected... big hit

the elders return, the book is like the expanse season 7, but not a game of thrones scorched earth burn out

Excellent!

It’s an excellent, entertaining, twisting thriller! I have listened to the entire series and do not want it to end! Full of lots of suspense and many laughs!
