A New York Times Book Review Summer Read and Edgar Award nominee! Don’t miss this unputdownable psychological thriller! Perfect for fans of Lucy Foley and Ruth Ware!

When you really start to look beyond the airy open floor plans and marble counters, Brighton Hills is filled with secrets. Some big, some little, some deadly. And one by one, they’re about to be revealed… “A writer to watch.” —Publishers Weekly

The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide…

Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely…

Cora thinks her husband, Finn, is cheating—she just needs to catch him in the act. That’s where Paige comes in. Paige lost her son to a hit-and-run last year, and she’s drowning in the kind of grief that makes people do reckless things like spying on the locals, searching for proof that her son’s death was no accident…and agreeing to Cora’s plan to reveal what kind of man Finn really is. All the while, their reclusive new neighbor, Georgia, is acting more strangely every day. But what could such a lovely young mother possibly be hiding?

Excellent story

I didn’t like the sound of the English narrator’s voice when she was Nicola (the English character) I found it so annoying and so overly dramatic. But she did a good job with the other voices. But the most important aspect was the actual story, and it was excellent. Really well written book.

So good!

This was such a great story! Twisty and turny the whole way through and overall, great narration. The Cora character’s narration was a little over the top in the first introduction of her and I thought I made a big mistake with this one, but it toned down and was much better the rest of it. Really enjoyed this one!

Imogen Church is the most talented narrator!

This was a great story, really good twist and turns with characters that I fell in love with. They were such realistic people with realistic inner monologues. Cora was by far my favourite character and her evolution was so satisfying. I only went with this book because of the narrator Imogen Church. in my humble opinion, she is the most dynamic and talented narrator who creates such unique characters. She can really bring a story to life.

Not my favorite of Imogen

I usually love when Imogen Church narrates books, but I thought this performance was a bit annoying. It’s like her voice got slowed down for some reason, and its a bit overacted. I like the story though.

Avoid

The story is good, nothing shocking but it is an enjoyable story. However, the narration is AWFUL. I always listen to the sample before buying but it’s not a good representation. She made all the characters sound unbearably annoying. It was hard to listen to, and kind of makes you hate the characters. She has this way of saying some vowels very slowly. It’s a very odd way of speaking. If you want to read the story, I’d recommend actually reading this one.

Avoid this book

When deciding to purchase a book, I always listen to the sample to make sure I like the narrator. With this book, the sample is not a proper representation of the narration. It is one of the WORST I have come across from Audible. I couldn't even get through the second chapter. I can't speak to the story, but if this plot interests you, read the book. Do not listen to it. No one should be subjected to the torture of this narration.
