life changer
As I just finished listening to this book I'm feeling refreshed and I feel like I have a new outlook on life.
I'm almost sad it had to end. the personal growth I experienced during the months of listening to this audiobook has been great. I'm looking back and don't recognize the person I was.
Even if I don't find financial success from the habits in this book I've found something far more valuable.

Weak content. Very Boring. Annoying author.
This whole audiobook could have been a pamphlet with seven points on it... instead you get several hours of antiquated ideas wrapped up in meaningless philosophical rambling and constant references to the author's religious beliefs. That last point, on its own, makes it impossible to take Covey seriously as an intellectual. A better book in the same genre is "Good to Great" by Jim Collins, which is intelligently presented and details a data-driven study into the development of great companies. No philosophical BS or an old Mormon's perspectives on pornography... just real data analysis and discussion. 7 Habits is not a good book.

‘03 Audio
I purchased this under the impression that it’s an updated audio version (as the other one is 17 years old). Regrettably, this is not the case — it is just a ‘copy and paste’ from the 2003 audio, with additional add-ins by his son. You’re going to have to suffer the terrible audio quality or buy the kindle version. :/

Fantastic but...
The material itself was fantastic, but the audio engineer needs to be slapped. A book this popular should have undergone some QC where Stephen Covey’s vocals should have had a “de-esser” on them as his “S” sounds were often over the top and distracting to me. And Sean Covey’s overall volume needed to be brought way up to match his dad’s original recording. I realize these are relatively nit picky, but I’d imagine the people who recorded them were professionals and should definitely have known better!

I do not recommend this version
I have read this book numerous times in the past and was excited to hear the new bonus content. Unfortunately, Sean Covey does not deliver anything new or illuminating. His reading is tedious and his tone is almost smug as if he is the heir to an intellectual kingdom and should automatically be recognized as the new king of the Covey legacy. Well, sorry, but he is a copy of a copy, at best. I recommend the 7 Habits, just not this version.

Common sense information that isn’t applied anymore
These 7 habits that Stephan Covey present to the reader are good, but some managers even after taking the class or reading the book doesn’t know how to apply these skills.
I like that he uses examples of how and when to use the skills. For example if you have a subordinate that tells you that they just found out that have cancer, you don’t repeat what they said to them. However if you have a subordinate that is having problems meeting deadlines, then you will practice active listening to get to the heart of the problem.
Giving the nature of the climate now, some people need these tools more than others.

A favorite!!
The original edition of the book was excellent. This new 30th anniversary edition is even more tremendous. The son, Sean Covey, gives great updates and additions to the book at the end of each chapter. Stephen Covey reads this book as if he is giving an interesting lecture and adds to the text with some additional insights.
I almost gave this book less than 5 stars after a call to their home organization and perceived the person on the other end of the phone would have performed better if they would have incorporated the teaching of the book into their own manner.
The book is excellent.
One funny observation - The son, Sean Covey, will remark how consistent his dad was in living the 7 habits, then tell stories how his mother did not necessarily follow the same path. It wasn't really a criticism of the mother, but more of Sean appreciating her inconsistency with the habits to give out sympathy.

Overall really good book
I really enjoyed listening to this book. Content wise, it was great. Lot of interesting insights. As the author says it himself, there is nothing new or magical in the book. Most of the content is stuff we already know but we fail to apply in daily life leading to various consequences. This, being aware of it is the first step to taking the steps to change and shift towards those habits.
