‘03 Audio
I purchased this under the impression that it’s an updated audio version (as the other one is 17 years old). Regrettably, this is not the case — it is just a ‘copy and paste’ from the 2003 audio, with additional add-ins by his son. You’re going to have to suffer the terrible audio quality or buy the kindle version. :/

I do not recommend this version
I have read this book numerous times in the past and was excited to hear the new bonus content. Unfortunately, Sean Covey does not deliver anything new or illuminating. His reading is tedious and his tone is almost smug as if he is the heir to an intellectual kingdom and should automatically be recognized as the new king of the Covey legacy. Well, sorry, but he is a copy of a copy, at best. I recommend the 7 Habits, just not this version.

Fantastic but...
The material itself was fantastic, but the audio engineer needs to be slapped. A book this popular should have undergone some QC where Stephen Covey’s vocals should have had a “de-esser” on them as his “S” sounds were often over the top and distracting to me. And Sean Covey’s overall volume needed to be brought way up to match his dad’s original recording. I realize these are relatively nit picky, but I’d imagine the people who recorded them were professionals and should definitely have known better!

Common sense information that isn’t applied anymore
These 7 habits that Stephan Covey present to the reader are good, but some managers even after taking the class or reading the book doesn’t know how to apply these skills.
I like that he uses examples of how and when to use the skills. For example if you have a subordinate that tells you that they just found out that have cancer, you don’t repeat what they said to them. However if you have a subordinate that is having problems meeting deadlines, then you will practice active listening to get to the heart of the problem.
Giving the nature of the climate now, some people need these tools more than others.

Overall really good book
I really enjoyed listening to this book. Content wise, it was great. Lot of interesting insights. As the author says it himself, there is nothing new or magical in the book. Most of the content is stuff we already know but we fail to apply in daily life leading to various consequences. This, being aware of it is the first step to taking the steps to change and shift towards those habits.
