"This book is my secret journal," Nouwen wrote. At first he had no intention of sharing this personal diary of the difficult months when he felt all meaning in his life was missing and all ahead seemed a dark, bottomless abyss. In spite of his inner turmoil, Nouwen recorded the descent into his heart in these 63 journal entries. Good book

This little gem has been in my library for several years untouched. God's timing is perfect I found this book helpful and healing. I just wish there could have been Scriptures to support the points he was making.

I like that it is written in first person because it made it feel like God was speaking directly to me which of course He was. I will definitely be rereading this little volume
