Publisher's Summary

Instantly discover what's really going on around you!

Know the truth before you ever hear a word!

Approximately 80% of communication is expressed nonverbally. When you know how to unlock the secrets of people's nonverbal cues, you'll always have the upper hand in any situation.

In The Power of Body Language, former FBI counterintelligence officer and recognized global expert on nonverbal behavior Joe Navarro teaches you how to "speed-read" people: decode sentiments and behaviors, avoid hidden pitfalls, and look for revealing behaviors. You will discover:

  • How the subconscious limbic system drives all body language.
  • Why the face is the least likely place to gauge a person's true feelings.
  • What thumbs, feet, and a simple handshake reveal about moods and motives.
  • The most powerful behaviors that reveal our confidence and true sentiments.
  • Simple nonverbals that instantly establish trust and communicate authority.
  • Why things taught about nonverbals in the '70s and '80s are incorrect.
  • And more!

Incredibly valuable information

The information presented in this book is truly remarkable. It helps you get a better understanding of the world around you and understand people on a much deeper level.

The only downside I found was that the book was very information-dense. I found myself having to relisten to certain sections multiple times to truly grasp everything that was said. I would definitely recommend using the provided pdf as much as possible because it allows you to grasp the information better - at least it did for me.

Adds a new dimension to your social interactions

Joe Navarro makes a strong case for why the ability to read non-verbal communication is such an under-valued skill. If you want to become better at socializing and making people feel more comfortable around you, this book should be at the top of your reading list.

Eye opening

A great book to listen to if you want to learn about human behaviours and how to read them.
For me, I always wondered why people do these small gestures under certain circumstances, and this book definitely answered most of them. Now, I feel I can talk to people fully understanding what to expect and how to change conversations, or help change an atmosphere of things get tense. Worth every minute of my time listening to this. Will definitely listen to this many more times.
