Publisher's Summary

Princess Esofi of Rhodia and Crown Prince Albion of Ieflaria have been betrothed since they were children but have never met. At age 17, Esofi’s journey to Ieflaria is not for the wedding she always expected but instead to offer condolences on the death of her would-be husband.

But Ieflaria is desperately in need of help from Rhodia for their dragon problem, so Esofi is offered a new betrothal to Prince Albion’s younger sister, the new Crown Princess Adale. But Adale has no plans of taking the throne, leaving Esofi with more to battle than fire-breathing beasts.

I really wanted to like it

I love this genre and had high hopes even after reading the reviews. The narrator wasn't great either.

Great

I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. There’s a minor edit error, an audio overlap near the end but it’s just a few words. Narrator was good too.

Loved it!

Enjoyed every minute of it. The few things the irked me aren't big enough to bother detailing out. However, I would have liked a scene where where the leads declared their love for each other instead of skipping over that part directly from potential misunderstanding to "yay we are happy now" - that did seem like a missed opportunity. There is a very fun plot twist/development right at the end that I did not see coming - can't wait to hear more about that in the next book.

Absolute triumph

I have been waiting for Queen of Ieflaria to come out on Audible with so much anticipation, and I was not let down!

Calvin is a spectacular writer and Wlazlo’s narration expertly brings the world to life. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves romance, drama, and fantasy!

Great queer Fantasy read

A beautiful fantasy story, and a cute queer romance. Was surprised when it wasn’t controversial in this fantastical land but all the other obstacles made up for the fortunately absent homophobia.

No Pillow Princesses here!

An excellent story! I cried, and the characters feel like they develop in a real way. Their relationships, except for a couple of moments, feel like they develop in a real way.

There were a couple of issues with audio editing and recording, but otherwise is read excellently

Falls apart

A rather generic fantasy novel starring an lgbt pairing. The narration seemed poor and a bit jarring at first but as I got further in, the voices grew on me. The middle and meat of the book was quite enjoyable even if it did nothing special, but by the end completely falls apart. It went from still building up an antagonist to finishing the novel in the last 30 minutes. The book just decided to abandon the attempts at building a lore and decides to just throw you into a final event. The writing itself also takes a bit of a nosedive in quality and feels like it was finished by a rushed 14 year old rather than a published author. It’s a shame, because I really started to get in to it and then all of that was shattered in the last 30 minutes of narration. Unfortunately I could not recommend this book, and I’m usually one who can just sit and enjoy an average 3 star book and not need literary brilliance.

Really Enjoyed this!

I can't even specifically point out what I would have liked the change to make this story perfect... there were just a few things that weren't quite right somehow. But nothing is perfect, and I really enjoyed this story! The characters were interesting and the world-building was SO COOL and I'm definitely going to look for the sequels next.

High hopes.

I had high hopes for this story, but it's like the author gave up on the storyline. Big lead up for promising fantasy story and a lacking lead up to the end. I know I am not giving a lot of detail, but if you are looking for a good fantasy story with magic, dragons, and warriors - find another story. Disappointed.
