Publisher's Summary

An Instant New York Times Bestseller!

China has concentration camps now. Why do Westerners claim our sins are unique?

It is now in vogue to celebrate non-Western cultures and disparage Western ones. Some of this is a much-needed reckoning, but much of it fatally undermines the very things that created the greatest, most humane civilization in the world.

In The War on the West, Douglas Murray shows how many well-meaning people have been fooled by hypocritical and inconsistent anti-West rhetoric. After all, if we must discard the ideas of Kant, Hume, and Mill for their opinions on race, shouldn’t we discard Marx, whose work is peppered with racial slurs and anti-Semitism? Embers of racism remain to be stamped out in America, but what about the raging racist inferno in the Middle East and Asia?

It’s not just dishonest scholars who benefit from this intellectual fraud but hostile nations and human rights abusers hoping to distract from their own ongoing villainy. Dictators who slaughter their own people are happy to jump on the “America is a racist country” bandwagon and mimic the language of antiracism and “pro-justice” movements as PR while making authoritarian conquests.

If the West is to survive, it must be defended. The War on the West is not only an incisive takedown of foolish anti-Western arguments but also a rigorous new apologetic for civilization itself.

Seriously, Douglas Murray is my hero.

Incredible. I felt so much helplessness in the beginning but was left with hope and optimism. If I got to choose one person to have dinner with and a conversation, it would be Mr. Murray
I can't recommend this book enough!

Disturbing and Eye-opening

Douglas Murray has created a thought-provoking critique of Critical Race Theory in this book, specifically its attack on the West as “uniquely evil.” According to Murray, the West is beset by a pathological self-hatred: at times humorous, and at others disturbing. He ends the book with a stern warning against self-destruction and the undesirable outcome of a society obsessed with race. A very good read, one aimed to challenge the rising trend in “anti-racism” and shed light on the absurdities of our time.

Essential listening in today’s Canada

Well researched and presented. Essential listening in the West and in particular in Canada in the year 2022.

A great reminder

Race is an outdated and dangerous concept. No reparations will ever make up for history. Not all history is worthy of reparations. The rationality of the west far outweighs the mysticism of the rest.

well researched and remarkably balanced

In the face of the onslaught against of all that has hitherto been held as examples of civilized progress, it is refreshing to hear someone questioning the current haters of Western civilisation.
Let us hope that Educators and business people alike will return to the concepts of inculcating the precepts of honesty, decency and reason.
Shame on all who have sold there heritage for the twisted anti-white raciscim prevalent in academia the media and the arts today. The reason we can see so far today is that we stand on the shoulders of giants. In the West we should be eternally grateful for those who went before and reject once and for all the ungrateful, simple minded wannabees who want to profit from anarchy.

Amazing throughout

A much needed book from Douglas. It argued what all rational and objective thinkers think but what most are afraid to say.

READ THIS BOOK!

Douglas Murray is highly intelligent and exceptionally articulate. His books are the best non-fiction books I’ve read for years. He also has an awesome sense of humour. This book should be read by everyone in the silent majority or anyone who is sane and rational and is wondering what is happening to western society. Douglas Murray is a hero of our modern age.

A voice of reason in an age of insanity

A well thought out analysis, expertly performed by the author himself. Murray says the things many of us know in our hearts to be true, but that we can never say ourselves, for fear of alienation and reprisal.

An antidote to the attack on western culture

Everyone should read this book, it challenges the point of view most media take today, Douglas Murray is the perfect narrator for his own book, and it would be good if we could all move past exactly what he writes about in this book.
