Publisher's Summary

New system? Check. Companions? Check. An accidental soulbound murder bunny with aspirations of becoming a chef? Check.

It’s not easy being a System Traveler. Well, the traveling part is hard, at least. But once Derek got his feet under him, he hit the ground running, saving an entire area from a massive dungeon overflow in the process. He even found some companions to help ease the massive hole inside him formed from spending decades alone in the void.

Now, it’s time to move on to another adventure–from small villages to a city.

His only experience with a noble left a bad taste in his mouth, and cities are full of them. Hopefully, that experience was an outlier. Surely his view of nobles is just swayed by tropes beaten to death in popular fiction, right?

Well, he’s about to find out as he takes a step into his first city in Cydaria, Torith.

Don’t miss the continuation of Derek’s adventure with a new System, complete with the unique combination of LitRPG, isekai, and slice-of-life genres. Just what is an overpowered protagonist to do with a foreign System in foreign land? Whatever he feels like.

A great system story

This is a system story that has balanced the genre well. The system elements and litrpg format has not stalled the character growth or stalled the plot at all, which is nice. The action scenes are a lot of fun, and the dialogue read like natural conversations to me. Some places in the book the author spent a little too much time, but it really was easy to forgive with how good the story is.

The character is interesting and likeable and the "flavor" of his skillset and class is really interesting and I find the execution of it unique. I feel like this series could easily go 9 books and still have lots to cover with how things are turning out.

Really liked, can't wait to read more.

I’m struggling with Main Characters motivations

First off, the story is interesting. So that’s good. The power scaling is fun, though the true power stats are sort of obscured but that’s a feature not a bug.

The Nitpick: The MC is almost unlikable at times. I’m not sure if it’s the narration or writing but the MC is waaay too willing to do violence against other humans imho. For example: A tangentially bad guy does “violence”, in return, Main Character delivers grisly violence or promises of violence to any and all people concerned. It’s jarring how much the MC relies on the “might makes right” ethos while rarely rising above the base violence of classical bad guys. They are monsters, but he’s a much bigger mister with an occasional heart of gold…but less charming.

I feel like the MC is written in a way to have some “Jason Asano” type dark humour moments but they come off as awkward and cringy and un-relatable. The MC almost comes off as a narcissist I think…yet he cares about people, but very unevenly. This creates odd scenarios. He is also unrelentingly confident and often cocky and uses sarcasm a lot, but it’s not witty. Still there are enjoyable moments to be had.

The rabbit and most women in this book have the most annoying voices I’ve ever heard narrated. I want to be more kind but the vocal cadence and constantly shifting ups and downs of the narrators voice in even a single sentence has me utterly perplexed. I don’t understand some of the choices being made and I’m having trouble getting past it.

It’s enjoyable in some ways but has some problems. Still it’s worth a read and will make you smile at times. Pacing is good too. Enjoy.
