  • Why We Moved to Sweden! Pt.1 | with Brittany Lang
    Apr 15 2024

It's been a while since our last podcast episode, but we are now back with a new batch of some awesome interviews!

In the summer of 2022, we packed up and moved our family of 4 and 3 pets from our home Rochester, NY, where we had spent our entire lives, to Stockholm, Sweden. I accepted a teaching position there, and over the course of 2 months we sold our house, 2 cars, and all of our belongings to embark on a crazy adventure.

Now that we have lived here for almost 2 years, my wife Brittany and I wanted to explain why we moved to Sweden, and the insane amount of things we had to do in order to get here.

I'm super pumped to be able to introduce you all to my beautiful and amazing wife Brittany, and I hope you enjoy hearing our perspective on moving abroad with your family.

We would love to do more episodes together like this, so please share your comments/questions/feedback, and don't forget to subscribe and rate the show. Thank you!

  • There's No Such Thing As Bad Weather with Linda McGurk | Episode 33
    Jan 17 2022

Linda McGurk is the author of the best-selling book "There's No Such Thing as Bad Weather: A Scandinavian Mom's Secrets for Raising Healthy, Resilient, and Confident Kids (from Friluftsliv to Hygge)". This book has changed my life in so many ways, opening my eyes to the value of spending time in nature, regardless of the weather. As a child, I spent all day every day outside, even in the winters growing up in Western New York. As an adult, I realized I lost that connection with nature, and this book was one of the main catalysts to me reconnecting with the outdoors again, and has transformed my teaching career and family life.

Linda and I focus in on several topics from her book including:

    • Free range parenting
    • Social trust
    • The fear of falling kids falling behind in academics and athletics
    • Friluftsliv (open air life)
    • Nature and the immune system
