• Episode 8: Puppy Palooza
    Mar 25 2021

This week the True Rescue team finds itself in Puppy Palooza with rescued litters and pregnant momma dogs. Amy and Kristin try to get Michael to comment on how women's periods are like feline heat rage (he's not taking that bait) and Amy discusses the finer points of having your male dogs "nuts chopped off".  We also discuss breaking ground for a new building and finding a pet poo grant for sustainable waste processing. Amy sings us out at the end with a new song about Sandy and Heather has something important to tell you.

  • If The Shoe Fits
    Feb 3 2021

Amy and Kristin go to Atlanta to buy pet themed merchandise for the rescue and Kristin learns the hard way about choosing appropriate shoes.  The temperamental Tigress finds love at first sight as True Rescue cats choose their people in a relaxed setting.  Eight Great Dane puppies came up to bat in the former batting cages and hit a home run.  Unfortunately rehoming is on the rise due to pandemic job losses and the associated evictions but True Rescue helps keeps animals out of the overcrowded city shelters.  We spill the beans about upcoming plans for spay/neuter clinics and a possible end of life plan that makes sure you pets are cared for after you’re gone.

  • Another Hurricane and a Memorial
    Sep 30 2020

Loaded with donations, Amy, Kristin, Sarah and Joanne go to Florida to help Alaqua Animal Refuge after it was flooded by Hurricane Sally.  They take the screaming bottle babies (kittens) with them so they can be fed every 2 hours along with Churro who was still struggling.  Churro didn't make it and neither did Fraggle from last weeks podcast so Amy and Kristin created a video memorial for the kittens and coyote pup that died while receiving loving care.  Every animal rescue doesn't end happy but True Rescue feels it's important to honor and to be transparent about those who didn't make it.

  • Episode 4: Screaming Bottle Babies, Fraggle and Homemade Cat Food
    Sep 21 2020

Amy is punchy and sleep deprived in this episode from a particularly loud litter of screaming kittens she's bottle feeding. She's also carrying around a funny little kitten with ringworm in a sling around her neck, hoping he makes it because of the extra attention.  Kristin isn't doing much better in the sleep department after staying up all night googling homemade cat food and supplements then getting pooped on at an adoption event.  Ah the glamorous life of animal rescue.

  • Hurricane Relief, Hallucinations and a Successful Adoption Event
    Sep 10 2020

This week Amy and Michael drive supplies to Lake Charles and help their friends at Big Sky Ranch on the ground in Louisiana.  They lend support to some local cat groups, feed left behind strays and help get a pit bull puppy off the dangerous streets.  Then a trip to the Baton Rouge Expo facility where Cara's House runs a hurricane intake that needed bottle feeding volunteers.  The bottle babies had left on transport already but there was no way Amy was leaving empty handed when there were nursing and pregnant cats fading in the 109 degree heat.

Meanwhile, Kristin and Sandy place 15 pets in their forever homes during their weekly PetSmart adoption clinic.  All in all a very busy but good week.

This weeks animal stories include a funny story with a sad ending about a rescue puppy that turns out to be something else.  Next we flip the script with a sad story with a happy ending about litter of kittens found in a trash bag.  You'll also find out who TikTok the turtle is and how he became the first True Rescue.

Amy and Kristin set up a regular adoption event at PetSmart in Mt Juliet, TN and make hurricane relief plans for Lake Charles Louisiana.
