Sixteen-year-old Wesley had his heart set on an eight-second ride that February morning. As he lowered himself onto the bull inside the chute, his heart raced with anticipation and excitement. They outwardly scorned him, and they secretly abused him. A big brown medicine ball worn over his bulging naval caused him to be cut off from his little friends much of the time. He grew up in a kind, loving, and faithful sharecropper family. But he saw suffering in his family early.

This book was put together to be that light at the end of the tunnel, to give life, the rope that pulls one from the quick-sand in life, the answers to all those confusion thoughts, to give understanding, to give character and self-worth, to open up the eyes of those tired of seeing deception, to make simple what Satan has complicated, to uncover what greed has covered, to give to all what God has freely given to me, and that’s the character and faith to love and live forever.

I have experienced four “near-death experiences” in this lifetime on Earth. The story begins at the end of my life in 2017 and recounts my history as a child abandoned by my mother, raised by a nanny during the 1950s. Having imaginary friends who were angels guided and directed to become the spiritual leader I am today.

A Life Long Spiritual Walk as a Friend of Bill W. is a tribute to her formative years, being around her grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins, mom and dad, and all her loving animals. She has Native roots in Canada with the Blood tribe and in Montana with the Blackfeet tribe, all of which contribute to the woman she is. She attributes the beginnings of her walk to being led to the doors of Alcoholics Anonymous on her most vulnerable and most teachable day, that being the day she began to hear for the first time in a long time. The decision to write this book was driven by a dual compulsion that compelled me in two directions. The process of the work I worked through to create an environment in which women were being held to ransom made me realize that I needed to examine what was wrong with women in our society and what we were doing wrong to create what everyone was doing right.
