For three long months, Dawn awaits her fate while rotting in a dungeon. But when a stroke of luck finally springs her free, her punishment is far from over. Five of the six Stones of Amaria have been activated. Only the onyx remains. Someone is determined to help Ryze return so he can rule Amaria with a crushing fist—but Dawn still doesn’t know who. Guard the stone, her brother told her. She vows to do exactly that while hunting down a murderer—or murderers. While Dawn stalks the halls of Necromancer Academy once again, it becomes painfully clear that no one is as they seem. 

After falling into mage’s oblivion, Dawn wakes to a nightmare. All of Amaria’s magic is out of balance from Ryze’s return, and at Necromancer Academy, unruly magic could mean death. That’s one constant Dawn is prepared for, though. What she isn’t prepared for is how far Ryze’s minions will go to protect The Staff of Sullivan. It’s hidden in the academy’s catacombs, and it must be important. But how? With the skin-walker thwarting her every step, Dawn must find the staff and stop the skin-walker once and for all. Unless it stops her first.

With Ryze fighting to keep his power over Amaria, it’s the perfect time for Dawn to strike. The plan is to take back what he stole—The Staff of Sullivan. It’s mysterious. It’s important. With the help of her friends and family, Dawn is determined to find out how…if she can steal it back.
