Erin Simpkins is a cardiothoracic surgeon at the top of her game. She is one of Philly's finest. The alluring Black physician can crack open a chest, remap the blood vessels of a heart, and save a human life; but on the other side of those operating room doors, her world is slowly falling apart.

Iliana Martinez is a beautiful Latina with surgical skills and a brilliant mind. The pulmonary surgeon from Mexico is no joke—after being forced to attend medical school for a second time in her career, the dark-haired immigrant is finally on the road to a serious comeback.

Cobra Dilan is the tiniest surgeon in the operating room, but do not call her a midget. She is a country doctor with a big heart and a patriotic allegiance to the ole south. She sees everything in terms of black and white—right and wrong. Her specialty is plastics, and she is damn good at it.

These three young surgeons are the next generation of doctors at Penn's Landing Memorial Hospital. Their lives are extreme and full of drama. They work at an urban trauma center in Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection, where their personal lives cause problems in and out of the OR.
