This story was exactly what I needed- I’m so obsessed with scary forest stories right now and this was a perfect, actually unsettling story! I honestly really loved the voice for Evelyn and binged this very quickly. I am happy with how it ended but I would also love a second book to get more answers and have more lore from the forest.

this is one of my favorite creepy pastas and I really enjoyed this new pass on the narration I can't wait for the second book to bee turn into a new audiobook

a great new take on this internet classic

Right from the beginning this book let's you know what you are in for. It follows a lot of the usual mystery horror steps but rather than pull back and explore the world through an exposition dump, you experience it with your main characters too stubborn to give up on each other. The two main characters work well with each other but I found that the third, older rough around the edges character really brought the feel of the town together. If you are looking for an unsettling tale of a town too stubborn to just lay down and die. With residents just as creepy and cryptic as the monsters, this should be right up your alley. With all that being said, don't go into this trying to figure out what the mystery is and just enjoy the ride.
