Returning from his time in the cities’s militia, Ajax comes to find out his village was destroyed and his mentor was injured due to the whims of a spoiled noble. He knows there is nothing that can be done, as he is now, but luckily for him a dungeon nearby offers the perfect opportunity to train before heading to the Capital.

But once he gets there what will he find? A way to heal his mentor? Support to grow even stronger? Nobles who want to use him for their own ends? Maybe all of the above.

Good story

Overall a good listen. Hopefully, one of the narrators improves their skill because in this novel they sound like a robot. Stilted, monotone and broken which leaves half of the audio atrocious. Truly hurts the story telling!

Overall pretty mediocre series with lots of cheap payoffs all revolving around how much stronger the main protagonist is than others his age. If your into psychopathic protagonists who pretend at being a good person, while engaging in power fantasies like most isekais, then you will probably enjoy this more than I did. Also get ready for some of the most egregious stat page readout padding of your life. I swear if you cut all the unnecessary stat reading and just left the actual changes in stats the book would probably be like an hour shorter.

Feels like two halves of two different mediocre books were chopped off and put together.
