And just UGH. it’s beautiful y’all. just pure beautiful. i have planted my flag on this hill and will glad die on it fighting off the craven. it just has so many twists and turns and every time you think it’s going to end, something else happens to make my brain explode. it’s spooky, sexy - like daaaamn i need to fan myself, full of mystery, scenes that make you so made you want to chuck your phone or just do something violent (which is always what our glorious Poppy turns to) or scenes that make you melt into a freaking puddle or scenes that make you laugh uncontrollably because gatdamn Hawke is hilarious. I love it. wish i lived in this series. and yep. that’ll bout do it. NOW RELEASE THE SECOND ONE. thank you so much.

I loved this story!
I absolutely loved this book, it reminds me of when I was young and I loved books like house of night, this is definitely for more mature readers and right up my alley!
I can't wait to start book 2!!

worth the hype
I can’t even express how much I enjoyed this audiobook. It’s worth all the hype it gets and more. I am so excited to start the next and get to know these characters more. The narrator adds so much sass and personality to these characters and it shaped the whole listening experience. Highly recommend!

Great story with the perfect amount of heartbreak
I thought I'd never read any vampire story ever again, but here I am... I have to admit when I started listening, I had no Idea this was a vampire story 😂 I thought it was a fairie story, but oh well you can't always get what you want. The story starts very strong, loved it right away, then it gets a little dull, I couldn't care less for a couple of chapters after the first scene, however, dulllness finishes and the story gets interesting again and gets better. I like the fact that this is innovative, a mix of mythology/supernatural/steamy romance/backstabbing treason. This book made me feel things, and one of them was heartbreak, when a book makes me tear/sob, I know is a good book, at least in my perspective, so I highly recommend it, but if you haven't started it, Dont start it yet!! Third book will be out until april 2021 and the wait is excruciating! Wait until april so you dont have to wait like I do 😭

Romance-heavy
This is my first romance novel... I am not even sure it is classified as one but the story revolves around a love interest as the central theme. That was good, not great... I think it is just not my cup of tea, perhaps having to do with being a heterosexual male, where the book is heavy on sexy descriptions of the male love interest. BUT I was intrigued enough in the rest of the story's plot that I wanted more and ended up starting in on the next book in the series. Performance was good, story is interesting. Not my favourite book by far but pretty good. If you love romance novels I imagine this book would be a far better experience for you.

so good, sample dosent do it justice
I almost passed by this book because the sample sounded so blah and I wasn't sure I could listen to a whole book in that tone. boy am I glad I gave it a shot the voice actress is absolutely amazing and the clip isn't even of her voice for the main character 😂 the way she crafts a story with her voice alone had me hooked but this book had so much more in store. unlike most story's it didn't come out with the key information right away, there were things I was finding out for the first time 10+ chapters in because the main character didn't see it as out of the ordinary, because of that I had a lot of "oh shit" moments instead of knowing the twists the book would take two chapters in. you went on the experience with her learning things were not what they seamed right with her.
if you were hooked on any fantasy distopian novel you could get as a teen and wanted to step it up as an adult this is definitely a starter

Intriguing!!
I loved every minute of this book, I'm so sad that it even ended! The performance was great, the story was addictive, can't wait to start the next book!
