Description
Here's a free excerpt from the book:
This chapter talks about the admission process of West Point Facility, a center that turns cadets into soldiers for the nation.
The admission process starts from the junior year and it is after several long procedures that the candidate gets admission into this center but it turns out that hundreds leave the course within the two-month initiation training and this sheds light on the uselessness of the admission procedure.
The most important part of the admission procedure should be capable of predicting who would stay and yet no number of psychologists has been able to recognize the variable that determines the future of the cadet in the center. The author was the first to recognize that there is something different about the pupils who end up staying in the program and after a lot of testing; she discovered that it is the eagerness and tenacity within an individual that perfectly predicts their staying power.
The Whole Candidate Score used by West Point was useless in this quest while Grit Scale predicted the retaining will of pupils easily. Not only did Grit Scale perfectly predict the tenacity in cadets but also in competitors in spelling competitions and students of high schools, for their future in the education system.
