À propos de cet audio
In his sixth business book, best-selling author, entrepreneur, and investor Gary Vaynerchuk explores the 12 essential emotional skills that are integral to his life - and business - success and provides today’s (and tomorrow’s) leaders with critical tools to acquire and develop these traits.
For decades, leaders have relied on “hard” skills to make smart decisions, while dismissing the importance of emotional intelligence. Soft skills like self-awareness and curiosity aren’t quantifiable; they can’t be measured on a spreadsheet and aren’t taught in B-schools or emphasized in institutions. We’ve been taught that emotional intelligence is a “nice to have” in business, not a requirement. But soft skills can actually accelerate business success, Gary Vaynerchuk argues. For analytical minds, it’s challenging to understand how to get “better” at being self-aware, curious, or empathetic - or even why it’s important to try.
In this wise and practical book, Gary explores the 12 human ingredients that have led to his success and happiness and provides exercises to help you develop these traits yourself. He also shares what the “half” is - that emotional ingredient of leadership he’s weakest at and makes the most effort to improve. Working through the ideas and exercises in the book, he teaches you how to discover your own “halves” and offers insight on how to strengthen them.
Gary’s secret to success is using these 12 traits in varying mixtures, depending on the situation. But how do we know when to balance patience with ambition? Humility with conviction? Gary provides real-life examples involving common business scenarios to show you how to use them together for optimum results.
This iconoclastic book will help you refine your ingredients and improve your leadership capabilities. When implemented in the proper situation, these ingredients can help leaders land promotions, retain core employees, move faster than competitors, win the loyalty of customers, and build successful organizations that last.

Much of what we hear about who gets to the top, and how, is wrong. Those who become chief executives set their sights on the C-suite at an early age. In fact, over 70 percent of the CEOs didn't have designs on the corner office until later in their careers. You must graduate from an elite college. In fact, only seven percent of CEOs in the dataset are Ivy League graduates - and eight percent didn't graduate from college at all. To become a CEO you need a flawless résumé. The reality: 45 percent of CEO candidates had at least one major career blowup.

This reissue of Thomas Sowell’s classic study of decision making, which includes a preface by the author, updates his seminal work in the context of The Vision of the Anointed. Sowell, one of America’s most celebrated public intellectuals, describes in concrete detail how knowledge is shared and disseminated throughout modern society. He warns that society suffers from an ever-widening gap between firsthand knowledge and decision making—a gap that threatens not only our economic and political efficiency but our very freedom.

Customers, followers, subscribers. It's easy to just look at the numbers. How many likes? How many purchases? How many email subscribers? Our naked eyes see only a thin sliver of reality. We are blind in comparison to the X-rays that peer through skin, the mass spectrometers that detect the dead inside the living, or the high-tech surveillance systems that see with artificial intelligence. And we are blind compared to the animals that can see in infrared, or ultraviolet, or in 360-degree vision. These animals live in the same world we do, but they see something quite different when they look around.

Gary Vee never ceases to disappoint!
So I’ve been listening to Gary since 2014 or so. I have read all of his books and I particularly loved this one because it was as if he combined his previous books along with all of the life lessons that he has learned through leader ship, and family life along with business since the last book.
Also, the challenges that he gives you at the end of the book are so enticing and encouraging, as well as keeps you accountable. 🙏
Seriously, Gary - F*CKING AMAZING‼️

I’ll write this review, and listen to it again!
Being married (27 years), having six kids, doing business as a franchisor in the construction sector in Canada (10 franchised general contractors), having five staff, three business partners and playing in a five piece rock ‘n’ roll cover band, my whole world is full of humans. This audio book was so encouraging, practical and so easy to listen to; but challenging at the same time. I began consuming Gary’s content soon after I first moved to Canada in 2015. His insightful, raw content as it relates to marketing, branding and business building was my go-to as we started to build the business in 2016. And this audio book is another great resource that will assist me in developing into the personal and business leader I need to be. Nice one Gary - I appreciate it 🙏. I’d love to catch up with you at 4D’s sometime soon. ✌️😁 Max.
