I read this book way back around 2001-2002, and I absolutely loved it - so I decided to give it a listen on Audible to see if it was as good as I remembered. it absolutely was. Had the perfect amount of action, suspense, fear and fantasy. The narrator only served to add the experience. If you like fantasy novels, be prepared to get hooked - this is the start to a great series!

The narrator provided a fantastic performance that brought favourite characters from my youth to life! I had forgotten some of the riskier scenes in this story: rape, sodomy and violence. I felt many of these scenes could have been mentioned instead of so graphically detailed... I found myself grateful for the forward skip button more often than I care to admit for a book I cite as one of my favorites from my teen years.

Had a friend read all these books back in high-school.

I held off for a while because of the length of them... which was a mistake. This was such a good story with tons of detail that presents itself without being boring.

the charecters are amazing. I even felt myself loving some of the "bad" charecters.

If you want a big Epic listen that will keep you glued for a long time... start this series.
