  • [06] Near Death to No Limit. Judah stops letting his past hold his future hostage.
    Sep 1 2021

    Judah from Connecticut-

For Judah, life as a PK (Pastors Kid) had 2 standards:  what people saw at church and what actually happened at home.  His journey takes him through abuse, the wrong crowd, depression, the loss of his father, drug overdose and nearly ending it all on a bridge one night.  What he learns from a near death experience changes his life, and now he lives it with no limit to what he can do.

Transformation Tips:  How to Stop Letting Your Past Hold Your Future Hostage

    • Don't be afraid to get help
    • Be vulnerable and honest about what's happened in your life thus far.  Your  past does not define you.
    • Change your mindset:  YOU ARE ENOUGH.
    • "Do the work" to have a healthy mind
    • Talk about depression- the worst you can do is keep it to yourself
    • Know God to know yourself
    • Find your tribe- who you surround yourself with, matters.  Where will you be in 5 years with the people who currently influence you?  If it doesn't align with your goals and dreams, you need to make changes in your relationships, and who you choose to keep close.

  • [05] Speaking Truth with Timi Komo: Our personal results from a personality test!
    Aug 16 2021

    Timi from Texas-

    Summary:

Timi Komo, a TEDx Speaker, middle child, entrepreneur and YouTuber stops by to gab about sooo many things (honestly I should've taken notes...she gives AMAZING insight).  She makes "owning your truth" feel so easy!  In this candid conversation-style episode, we dish about our personal results of the Clifton Strengths Assessment (personality/strengths finder test) and our thoughts on how well it helps people (or not) in finding themselves.  Timi also drops bits of ridiculously good advice on boundaries, recovering from people-pleasing mentality, mindset + MORE!  Just listen...you will love her!

    Take the Test:

Clifton Strengths Assessment (Strengths Finder Personality Test)  *I am NOT an affiliate, this is a paid test, starting around $20*

Transformation Tips:  How to get the most out of your strengths

    • Strengths aren't just helpful for understanding yourself, but for working with other people and navigating teams.  Personality tests can be a great way to help you dig a little deeper.
    • Know that your strengths will change as your life changes and demands different things of you.  The strengths you were growing and nurturing 5 years ago are not the same strengths you are honing and building up today.
    • Ask for feedback from 3 different people, "when was I at my best self?"  Look for themes and patterns that emerge from their answers.
    • Reflect and jot down your own ideas, tap into what makes you, YOU!  Emotions can be misleading, so writing things down can help you see where you are strong and stand out!
    • Journal experiences and feelings, then go back to reveal themes and patterns you may have otherwise overlooked.   You may discover areas of strength you hadn't acknowledged before.

  • [04] From Vodka to Victory: Ricardo beats addiction and finds his purpose.
    Aug 2 2021

    Ricardo from Cali-

    Summary:

Ricardo's girlfriend is shot and killed at only 15 years old.  This fueled his drinking as a teen, which opened the door to substance abuse, codependency in relationships, a prison stint and very dark times.  Ironically, the demons he's been running from for so long are the very same he runs out to help others with today.  From a liter of Vodka every day just to numb the pain, to victory as an entrepreneur on a mission to provide support in fitness, finance and mental wellness for first responders and law enforcement battling all kinds of setbacks.  Ricardo had to make peace with his past to unlock his purpose and connect with his destiny.

    Transformation Tip: Live with Purpose

10 steps to align with your purpose path:

    1. Belief system: shift your mindset.  Know your value.
    2. Self-Discovery:  know who you are at the core.  Articulate your strengths, talents, weaknesses and core values.
    3. Learn from your past:  your past provides clues to the future. What have you overcome? What difference has that made in your life
    4. Learn where you contribute with the greatest impact: your purpose often lies where your talents (natural gifts) + strengths (things you have overcome, skills) + passions (your mission, stance, your love for something) collide.
    5. What service can you provide to others?   Who would benefit most from your talents, strengths, knowledge and passions?
    6. Learn and practice Emotional Intelligence:  Immerse yourself in learning and becoming aware of why you are, who you are.
    7. Identify what holds you back and breakthrough mental strongholds:  step into your full potential.
    8. Have vision for your life:  define what you dream about...they are clues!
    9. Find and reveal passions by taking action:  It's not enough to write them down or relive your childhood daydreams.  Passions are activated by action.
    10. Reconnect with God:  You cannot live to your full potential and find the significance and fulfillment you are searching for without this relationship.

  • Episode 3: Olivia's Story: Mindset
    Jul 15 2021

    Olivia from Nebraska

    Summary:

Olivia grew up in the city as a white girl in an all black neighborhood.  With a Mother aged 46 at her birth and an absent Father, her formative youth years looked a bit different than most midwestern kids.  Battling bullies, mental health, co-dependency, abandonment, a promising future lost to injury, homelessness and depression, Olivia's breakthrough teaches us the importance of mindset and that the power to change your life begins with YOU.

Transformation Tip: The power of Mindset

Ways to Shift Your Mindset for Success:

    • Notice negative thoughts when they creep in and flip the switch on them.
    • Create positive self talk that supports the YOU, you want to be.
    • Determine the mindset you need to be your best self and act as if you already are (this is the most powerful and widely used by the world's most successful people).
    • Challenge your limiting beliefs (I can't, I'm not good at this, I'm a failure, success will never happen for me, money is hard to get, I will always live paycheck to paycheck, etc.)
    • Rewrite your limiting beliefs to break through them (I can and I will, I have many skills and talents, I am worthy of success, money comes to me easily, I have abundance in my life).
    • Visualize your goals and the success you want to see in your life.  Practice  meditating on achieving your goals every day.

    Notes from Jess:

Your mindset is the driving force behind who you are.  You've heard this phrase many times... "You are what you think you are".  This is the secret that separates the doers from the wannabe's; the millionaires from the poor; the victims from the victors.  Your negative thoughts and reactions to a situation say more about YOU than the person who triggered your behavior.  You cannot be offended unless you allow yourself to be. You need not remain a victim of the past unless you choose so.  You will not remain a failure unless you continue to label yourself as one.  DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF YOUR MIND!  What you think, you become.  Be careful what you allow yourself to focus on and think about.  Frame your thoughts carefully to live a life that pulls out your full potential...your authentic self.

  • Episode 2: Kristi's Story: Self Awareness
    Jul 1 2021
Kristi from Nevada Summary Can you truly be authentic in a career of Law Enforcement?  The officer persona expects you to abide the rules and constantly present that you have it all together and managed, while enduring endless trauma and turmoil on-the-job.  This real talk interview reveals Kristi's journey to re-finding herself after suffering PTSD, addiction, sexual assault and suicide attempts spurred from a career in Law Enforcement, which conditioned her beliefs that asking for help equaled failure.  Hear her pivotal moment and what helped her rise from the darkest time of her life. Transformation Tip: Develop Self Awareness to Avoid Emotional Fall Out •Become aware of your emotional arrogance- emotions you don't want to dig into or dismiss as unimportant.  •Spend time thinking through emotions to figure out where they came from and why they're present.  Emotions always serve a purpose- your job is to figure out why certain emotions got a reaction out of you.  •Pinpoint your triggers: ◦what motivates and satisfies you? ◦what people and situations push your buttons? The more you develop your own self awareness, the better equipped you will become to manage your response and avoid complete breakdown.  You will become keenly aware of what makes you tick, how much you can handle, and when to ask for help. Notes from Jess: Thank you to all who serve as first responders or in law enforcement.  The cost you pay for protecting our communities is largely misunderstood and grossly underappreciated.  If you or someone you know needs help, please connect them with the resources below. • Episode1: Audrey's Story: Vision
    Jun 10 2021

    Audrey from California

    Summary:

Audrey survived a difficult marriage for 20 years because she believed she'd be letting God down if she divorced.  After giving up singing, dancing and having a voice in her life (all things she loved),  Audrey realized she was no longer living as her true authentic self.  She even pretends to be widowed for a period of time to cope with her situation.  Unable to live up to the expectations surrounding her be the ultimate housewife + mother, she found herself far from happiness and no longer wanted to live.  Her breakthrough teaches us about having and declaring a vision for our lives.

Transformation Tip: Create a Vision for your life

    • Daydream like a child
    • Write down your heart's desires in a journal (not just material things)
    • Date your journal entries
    • Be specific and don't limit your ideas...go big!
    • Go back and review your journal periodically to see what has come to fruition.

    Notes from Jess:

Having vision is critical to authenticity.  You are giving intentional thought and heart to the direction of your life.  Not bound by the expectations of others, you can tap into who you are (your passions, your desires, and the calling you feel compelled to seek).  Innately, the values you regard will drive your compass (even if you can't articulate them yet).  In doing this you are being genuine and true to who you are.  You're getting out of your head, and into your heart.
