The first step is acknowledging that our existing model of reality is looking increasingly creaky in the face of recent scientific discoveries. Science tells us with some precision that the universe is 26.8 percent dark matter, 68.3 percent dark energy, and only 4.9 percent ordinary matter but must confess that it doesn't really know what dark matter is and knows even less about dark energy. Science is increasingly pointing toward an infinite universe but has no ability to explain what that really means. Concepts such as time, space, and even causality are increasingly being demonstrated as meaningless.
All of science is based on information passing through our consciousness, but science hasn't the foggiest idea what consciousness is, and it can't explain the linkage between subatomic states and observation by conscious observers. Science describes life as a random occurrence in a dead universe but has no real understanding of how life began or why the universe appears to be exquisitely designed for the emergence of life.
The biocentrism theory isn't a rejection of science. Quite the opposite. Biocentrism challenges us to fully accept the implications of the latest scientific findings in fields ranging from plant biology and cosmology to quantum entanglement and consciousness.
By listening to what the science is telling us, it becomes increasingly clear that life and consciousness are fundamental to any true understanding of the universe. This forces a fundamental rethinking of everything we thought we knew about life, death, and our place in the universe.

Excellent.
You have to all yourself how does this not make sense. Maybe I am biased but I have spent years puzzling consciousness. This theory of biocentrism along with my studies of Yoga and Buddhism and William James has it all coming together.

A fascinating invitation to keep an open mind
I’m a science major, and I also love talking about philosophy; the eastern world view and wondering about what is this thing we call life and why we do the things we do. This book is fascinating. It reminded me of the first popular science book I read on astronomy when I was a young teenager and how my world had opened up after it. This book is for anyone who enjoys discussing the meaning of daily experiences with an open mind. It agrees very much with what I’ve heard from Alan Watts. It makes me smile with curiosity. I’ll definitely have to re-read it again to make sure I don’t miss anything.

brilliant!
absolutely loved this book have already listened to it twice, taking john wheeler and another physicists' conception of reality to it's logical conclusion, biocentrism provides a theoretical framework that serves as a possible explanation of so many phenomena that is entirely subjective such as space/time and other limited observer perception, it is specifically as a result of our consciousness that we perceive limitations as such. Also provides a much more intuitive explanation IMO than the multiverse to explain quantum phenomena.

Interesting Stuff!
I enjoyed the content- grateful to have the easy 30s rewind button for some mind blowing and scientific content. Unfortunately, I found the narrator’s voice distracting & disappoi
nting. It was languid and very patronizing.

Narrator
What is wrong with the narrator? There is no way I can actually enjoy the book itself when it is read by an over exaggerating, priggish reader. I will have to return this book and by it s hard copy.
