What sounded like an 8 year olds idea if a main character turns out to work fantastically for this story. IYKYK. Jeff brings out Antony's personality and really saves this book. The books are a lot of fun but if you were to read it (much like I had done originally), you might get irritated by the MC and stop before you start.

Once I heard the narration preview and the personality brought about by Jeff, I knew I had to hear it in his voice and I'm so glad I did.

If you're looking for a fun, hilarious adventure through the eyes of a mutant ant, give it a shot. You won't be disappointed.

TL;DR: If you’re a fan of casual-listening, monster-progression LitRPGs with a rich, evolving world, get this book.

The writing is so easy to fall into, I was pretty much immediately hooked. The author effortlessly makes you feel invested in each character. In the first book, it’s mainly the MC, interspersed cleverly with asides to other characters that gives you a peek at a much more complex, moving world, and foreshadows events to come.

Amazingly, the narrator is even better. Such a variety of tones in his performance, that at first I thought there were two different male actors! Jeff Hayes brings so much life to this story. This is one of the only audiobooks that I would genuinely choose over paperback, every time.

Inventive, goofy, and oddly epic: a reincarnated-as-an-ant romp that mixes colony-building strategy with crunchy progression systems. The humor lands, the world keeps expanding, and the “evolve or be eaten” loop is compulsively readable. Expect some repetition and stat chatter, but the momentum (and audiobook performance) make it a standout comfort-binge for LitRPG fans. Now on to book 4.
