Can humanity survive what it never saw coming?

On October 15 at 2:15 a.m. Earth vanished. A scattered few woke alone in a world with no rules, other than survival at any cost.

A journalist wanders the wretched reality of an empty New York, searching for his wife and son. A serial killer must hunt in a land where prey is now an endangered species. A mother shields her young daughter from danger through every terror-filled breath.

A bullied teen is thrilled to find the world gone missing, until the knock on his door. A fugitive survives a fiery plane crash. Will he be redeemed, or return to the killing he's best at? An eight-year-old boy sets out on a journey to find his missing family, only to find something that will change him forever. These survivors aren't truly alone...

Someone or something is watching them. And waiting...

Strangers unite. Sides are chosen. Can humanity survive what it never saw coming?

I got this for free and still feel I'm owed money.

Just a collection of disjointed, and nonsensical horror imagery. Completely devoid of plot amd character development.

BEER BATTERED BULL SH@@

ANYONE TOO STUPID TO LOOT WAS JUST SMART ENOUGH TO STARVE
It's mystery told from six different views. Many of these views are from the bad guys. Episode is correct, as at the end you will still not know what is going on. If you are like me you will certainly be captured and want to continue. I love this sort of thing and will be getting the rest of the episodes. All the narrators are good to excellent and make the whole thing more entertaining.

Hooked

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Pros

1. Who doesn't love a good end of the world romp? How about especially when, the end comes from god knows what. I am banking its not zombies... (hate to say this publicly but I am getting tired of zombies)

2.It reminds me of a lot of books that I have read and loved, without being predictable. It is easy to follow. The characters are fairly diverse and almost all are likable.

3.It is free so there was absolutely no way I could lose.

Cons

There is only one. The serial killer character felt forced and without dimension. It felt like the authors put together a grab bag of audacious mad libs that ranged from lame to jarring swears. I guess that is why they have the warning upfront about content. Think about this for a second. They Had to put a warning on their book because of how unnecessary and stupid some of the language is.

Hahahha. I sound like someones mom, but I am not.

Bring on episode 2!

First of all, Thank you Audible, for giving us this opportunity! Had this not been in the "freebies" list I might have overlooked this GREAT opening episode
This was a really good first run. Individuals across the country wake up to a seemingly empty world, The story is very much in the style of Stephen King. The author really fleshed out his characters, which to me is very important to a story. There's even a serial killer! Anyway, the big mystery is, of course, What happened. Is it an alien invasion? Some strange world war? Or what?
I know its not an original concept, but thus far, it's a really good story! I look forward to part 2.

Gave Up

I normally do not quit on a book, but I found myself wanting to skip to the end. I love post-apocolypritc Sci Fi and am an avid reader. There are multiple issues with this book that made me give up on trying to struggle through it. Here are a few:
The book jumps perspectives before you are connected to the character(s). The writing pulls you out of the narrative, not because of the language, violence, or weird sexual perversion, but because it isn't cohesive or well-structured. Normally, I like being in the mind of different characters because you get an interconnected web and ultimately a more complete picture (Read Oryx and Crake series), but that doesn't happen here; it's just confusing.

the publisher summary is better that the book

Any additional comments?

I really like sci fi but I'm not a fan of crude writing that contains an abundance of F bombs and teenage self gratification scenes. I stopped at that point and chose to clean my brain of this mess. Narrators were good. Thankfully, this was free

Grabbed me like the monster in the closet!

What happened? Almost everyone has vanished, but to where? How? Most importantly, why?

The different narrators keep the story fresh, alive and in your mind. This book sample had me scrambling to purchase the full Season 1. I am chomping at the bit to get to the next Season.

I am a woman who hated "Lost". I thought it was the stupidest premise ever and after the first show, I refused to watch more of it. It didn't grab me, the characters were not believable or likeable as far as I was concerned. Yesterday's Gone should have struck me the same way but it grabbed me with it's unique storyline.

Having several narrators was the best decision the Author/Publisher could have made, it makes this story really come alive.

Not Enough F-Bombs

Would you listen to FREE Yesterday's Gone: Season 1 - Episode 1 again? Why?

No. Do F-Bombs make a good story good? If so, do even still more F-Bombs and foul language makes it even better?

Which scene was your favorite?

The extremely few in which the story stood on its own without extremely foul language.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no.

Any additional comments?

Don't waste your money.

Bought season 1 based on episode 1 then returned

Any additional comments?

The free episode pulls you in to what seems like a good story and concept but the story never goes anywhere. One of the few books I've returned.

an unexpected ending

well that ending wasn't what I expected, I began to think the story was weird since everyone just dissapeared and I didn't knew what to think, they werent zombies and neither have gone to heaven for what it seemed and then they appeared in the place i would less expected really.

what is more creppy they appeared at some point and that made the story terrifying, a worth terror tale.

Great narrtors

Any additional comments?

I thought the narrators did a wonderful job they made the characters interesting. How ever the story it's self was very lacking and I just could not get into it. Give it a try for yourself.Maybe if there was more to the book I would have enjoyed it more.
