Publisher's Summary

Before It Ends with Us, it started with Atlas. Colleen Hoover tells fan favorite Atlas’s side of the story and shares what comes next in this long-anticipated sequel to the “glorious and touching” (USA TODAY) #1 New York Times bestseller It Ends with Us.

Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date.

But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.

Switching between the perspectives of Lily and Atlas, It Starts with Us picks up right where the epilogue for the “gripping, pulse-pounding” (Sarah Pekkanen, author of Perfect Neighbors) bestselling phenomenon It Ends with Us left off. Revealing more about Atlas’s past and following Lily as she embraces a second chance at true love while navigating a jealous ex-husband, it proves that “no one delivers an emotional read like Colleen Hoover” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author).

Love it

Love this sequel to "it end with us". Beautifully written. Can't wait to ready another of her books.

I love Colleen, but this was awful.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first story about Atlas and Lily, but this sequel was boring and drawn out, no real plot line. Definitely my least favourite book shes written.

❤️❤️❤️

I love it! I know some readers will say that it was unrealistic to actually have an actual Atlas in real life but I think there could be someone out there who maybe resembles his character. Not all people who had a difficult past will have to be broken their whole life. Some people will make that their strength to make their life better despite what they’ve been through. It should start with someone, because if not the cycle will never end. Just like how Lily ended her relationship with Ryle. Its a matter of making good choices in life. We will all stumble upon something in our lives that will leave a scar, but we have to keep moving forward and we should not let those scars ruined our lives. Their love for each other is so admirable and so positive. I cried and laugh and it felt so good until the very end.

Too hyped up

I read the first book, “It ends with us” and was happy with that book, but this book was too rushed sadly. The ending is pretty cookie cutter. I’m sad because I was looking forward to it.

Slow story line

The story line was very boring. Same scenario dragged on for the 8 hrs over audible.

Pretty good

Enjoyable, liked it quite a lot, read it right after the first in the series. I disliked that they changed the male lead's voice from book one, that really threw me off, didn't love the male leads voice likely for specifically that reason for this book. Otherwise story is engaging, romantic, strong female role, the more I adjusted to the voices the more I couldn't put it down.

The back story of each characters and what lead them to become the people that they are.

I loved the story progression of the characters however, Ryle character could have a better character development that I was hoping for. it did have a good ending.

Saccharine sweet with no real substance.

Felt like a YA genre novel. Could have been a short story or prologue to first novel. Drawn out and predictable. Easy listen, likeable, sweet but no real plot or storyline. Found my mind easily wandering. Started to almost dislike the characters near the end. Nicely tied up the characters with a bow but it didn’t need an entire novel to do it.

Too perfect

So sicky sweet. The two lead characters had no flaws. So perfect. Gorgeous, reasonable, always caring. Always knew the perfect thing to say and had the perfect reaction. So predictable
