Not entirely relatable

I enjoyed this audiobook for the most part and it was interesting to hear Mel help the people she was coaching. There were some good tips here and there but I felt like the candidates she picked all had very deep rooted problems that were quite traumatic and obvious to identify so Mel was basically only digging until she found the cause. As a person who lives a rather "normal" life without any traumatic experiences in my early life or serious issues, I couldn't relate to most of these people. I do struggle with procrastination and have some problems of my own but I don't think it's as easy to identify as the people she coached. As a result, I was only listening as an outsider hoping that it would help me find useful tips to pinpoint the cause of my own procrastination issues but couldn't.

Finished in one day...

The stories shared in this show were not only relatable, but captivating! I had no intention of listening to over 6 hours in one day, but I was so engaged that I couldn't help it. I laughed, I cried, I had my own ah-ha and "hell yes!" moments.
Mel's ability to get through to people is impressive and I hope you have your own powerful breakthroughs as a result of listening.

This is NOT a book

I was really let down by this one! First, it's not a book. It's like listening to a talk show, and when they start laughing at their own jokes, it's annoying because there is no visual. Second, some of these people have deep rooted issues that should have more attention than 10 minutes with a life coach. I don't actually believe any of these people had their lives changed from the small bits of advice they got, but admittedly I was only 3 people in when I decided to get a refund.

Great Audiobook, but Dig Deeper.

I love the structure of this audiobook. It’s packed with live coaching sessions, which is fun to listen to and dissect. While this audiobook was well edited and produced, the depth of the content is lacking for me.

Instead of tackling the more common issues like procrastination, self-doubt, grief and anger, why not delve deeper? What about people plagued with issues that are arguably just as common but far less talked about? Mel uncovers people’s faults and weaknesses (as well as strengths) by studying their subtle behaviour patterns, but I’d like to see her do this for more extreme behaviours and people.

What about people with high-functioning hyperactive disorders, people with explosive anger problems, overt megalomaniacs, narcissists, egomaniacs, etc.. What if we took highly successful, yet tortured people and tried to coach them? I want to see Mel challenged and fix those challenges as a life coach. This audiobook makes it feel too easy and leaves much to be desired.

I’m interested in what the other side of the coin looks like and how Mel Robbins would delve into the psyche of more complex, manipulative individuals as well. That would break through the thin layer of mediocrity.

Other than that, excellent audiobook.

Awful.

To be honest I didn’t get past the first interview. The woman who was having the first coaching session featured offered a few different things that she was struggling with but there was a uniting theme. However, Mel jumped on the mention that Pam (I think that’s her name) smoked and then launched into a stop smoking theme. This is obviously a good goal to work on BUT it wasn’t the topic that Pam was asking for help with, and Mel just kept going back to it irregardless.
So I gave up in frustration. Mel just came across as having too much of her own agenda.

Way to KICK ASS Mel Robbins and team

I have been following Mel Robbins for a bit now, have read the 5 Second Rule. I took a class from her and am presently enjoying a Power of You training with Mel and the team. Kick Ass with Mel Robbins is such an entertaining piece of coaching yet has unbelievable information and tools that not only help the people being interviewed but all of us who are listening and can apply to these very same things to all aspects of our lives! Mel is such an engaging person. It's like she is right inside your head because she knows exactly what I'm thinking and should be but not doing. I love all the time, effort and love Mel and the team gives each and every person who listens to them!! Mel Robbins is a life changer❤️

Intelligent but...

The author is clearly a great coach, but I would not buy another book given how much swearing there is. It is truly excessive and detracts from the awesome coaching.

Not what I was expecting

Was disappointed in this book, had to listen to a lot of fluff to get lesson; but in fairness I can’t get past first two hours, I’m still interested in her book the five second rule, but am going to borrow from library first this time to make sure it’s something want to own

wasnt a fan, but it might work for you.

Robbins seemed to swear to be trendy....im not against swearing, but it just seemed out of place. I learned a few things, but honestly wished I spent the time on other books.

If Mel Robbins says "Mel Robbins" one more time..

A good enough book, but Mel Robbins saying "Mel Robbins" so often is the reason I won't be purchasing anymore of her books.
I'm all "Mel Robbins"ed out.

I related to every session somehow! Unbelievable

even when a session would start and I thought, "this does not Interests me" I would continue to listen and evitably I found something that really impacted me in every session. Everyone should listen to this book.

Eye opening and inspirational!

Loved it! Planned to listen a little each day but couldn't stop! Finished it in 2 sittings. I have already been recommending it to others and had my mom listen in on one session.

MUST LISTEN OVER AND OVER!

I've listened to this twice now. There's so much to learn that you have to in order to pick up on everything. Although you won't relate to every story 100%, you will learn something you can apply to your own life in 100% of the stories.

Wow - talk about realization

After reading/listening to this you will have to have some sort of idea on what you are doing well and likely what you may not be. It's a book that provides some very real thinking and might make you revisit what's been your road block lately. Take a listen - It's very good.

It's nice to meet you Mel

So glad I chose this title to listen to. I had never heard of Mel or nearly anyone that is a motivator. I had some audible credits to use and KAWMR had really good ratings. wasn't 100% sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised and found myself MAKING time to hear more (like sitting in my driveway once I got home to finish a chapter). The only thing that seemed odd was the quickness of the breakthroughs for the people she would talk to. I felt like it was staged. Then I thought, maybe for the sake of time... Then I used one of her techniques.... I ASSUMED there was no intent to mislead me.... I can't wait for my wife to listen...

Just what I needed to hear!

I saw a little bit of myself in each story. Now the work is to figure out what I really need to work on and make a plan for that. And maybe I already know what that work looks like I just need to own it.

Mindblowing

I got to know Mel Robbins from Impact theory , and then started following her journey everywhere I could . I decided to buy this Book to be more self-aware and understand my own thought-process and mind deeper . Throughtout each of these coaching sessions , I realised how amazing it was and how many advices could be applied to my relationships , business and life . À huge thanks from France ❤️

HIGHLY recommend kick ass !!!

Entertaining and confronting... every story awoke some part of me and made me take a long hard look at myself... but was comforting to know that I am not the only one dealing with my shit... I love the authenticity and honesty of Mel Robbins... and the people she interviewed... awesome job!! Sending huge hugs to all these people that were brave enough to take the plunge and open themselves up!!

It will blow your mind

Mel Robbins has an incredible gift : she can see through our stories to show us what we can't see, by changing perspectives. Because she is very true about herself, she is able to relate it to her own story and put it in a way that does not make us feel guilty about our toxic patterns and allows us to get over them, in order to shift to the life we really want.
The coaching sessions are incredible, very "down to earth" kind of talk, yet lifting up like a zeppelin.
What blew my mind is that, at first, I thought "Uh, I will have to go through 8 different coaches in hope to find one I can relate to. And maybe I won't relate to any !". When in fact, I could relate to ALL OF THEM.
Every single one of these 8 coaching sessions helped me understand a pattern I have, at various levels. And all of them helped me relieve a pattern that is not helping me anymore. Because what she teaches us above all is that what we refer to as obstacles were once in our life to protect us from something. And we just have to get conscious about them to release them.
Thank you Mel Robbins, you are a gift to humanity. And I am not exagerating. You show us a very righteous path.
