The System is broken

The Past has returned

After the Culling, peace has returned and life at the orphanage is quiet one more. Eli finds himself investigating the mystery of a student's new Class, which seems related to the System itself, as well as dealing with the nuances of his unique relationship with the women of the school.

When word arrives that the newly formed kingdoms are looking to track down the legendary Impaler, Eli realizes that the past will no longer stay buried and it's time to revive a project that he swore he would never touch again: Project Cerberus. It will be the ultimate test of whether Eli can successfully move forward as a person or whether he will be stuck in the Impaler's shadow forever.

a great roller coaster of a ride

Eli and The orphanage can you work along some very very challenging times. maiori continues to learn about her interesting little ability and uses it several times to cause some trouble and also to save everyone. Eli finally sees towards the end what he really should be doing. and boy howdy we get to see Mama Bear in action. and even though Eli is very very powerful. towards the end we will see a very different side of him.

the voice actors are quite good at what they do. sometimes it's a little bit of a challenge to understand who is who for a half moment but that is just due to the fact that there's only two of them and they're all doing six to eight voices minimum.

if more do come along for the book series then I am all for it. but the ending of this book allows the series to close out while still on a cliffhanger quite well.
