Nothing like the first one. A solid disappointment
Within the first 10 minutes of the first episode, you are inundated with noises and sound effects that are overwhelming. It makes it difficult to follow along. I also needed to keep fiddling with the volume because some of the sound effects are so harsh on the ears but the voices are quiet.
The introduction of an entire cast is disappointing. I had high hopes a cast would make the story more dynamic, but the voice acting is just not as good as Joshua Jackson's narration of the first book. It really takes away from the suspense we felt in the first book.
The story line of Oracle 2 is for lack of a better term, a hot mess.
Without giving too much away, more supernatural entities are introduced in this story. It all feels very jammed together, as if the author tried to throw too many ideas together. The dynamic between our main characters is disappointing. With the ending of the first book, one could expect that there would be more character development within our main trio, and there is some, but it feels forced.
The bone man who has haunted Nate Russo, and is the reason for his abilities, really feels like an afterthought in the story. As if the author forgot about him and went back in afterwards and sprinkled a few mentions.
Overall, the second installation of The Oracle feels as if the writer, high off the success of the first installment went all in, rushing creation of a fluid and creative story. Combining this with the overproduction of the audio book and completely changing the listeners experience from the first book- The Oracle 2, like Icarus, flew too close to the sun and crashed and burned.
If you were a fan of the first Oracle installment, you may want to skip out in The Oracle 2 as you might find the differences to be quite unpleasant.

Epic again
It’s like an audio play. Epic performance.
My only complaint is that you can’t download it. So we had to use our cellular data to listen on our road trip and it would stop when we had no signal.

The podcast format is not listenable
I started it and liked it but there is no way to listen to it except on your phone and you need to download one chapter at a time. I wish they would release the entire series edited together as an audiobook.
The first time I tried to listen in the shower on my Echo Dot or in the living room on my Echo Show and it wouldn't play, I switched to an audiobook. I tried to listen in my car and it reached but end of the chapter, I was forced to wait until the end of my trip to download the next chapter. I switched back to my audiobook.
The story was fine but the podcast format and limitations are untenable. Binned it.

Better than the first
I enjoyed part 2 more than the first part likely because of the contribution from different narrators, sound effects and music.

I really enjoyed this one, I like the podcast format because I love podcasts. It also lets you listen in instalments so if you only have 20 minutes it’s nice to Finnish an episode. I could listen to Joshua Jackson all day. The story is also really scary, I will say I found the first one creepier/ scarier but this one was more interesting.

Corny follow up to a good book
I listened to the Oracle audiobook that precedes this podcast, and enjoyed it. It was a unique, interesting, dark tale of something more than a haunting. The characters had humanity and enough complexity to make them interesting and real. The single narrator did an admirable job. I particularly liked his portrayal of “the dead man.” It was subtle and very creepy.
This is a corn ball audio drama version of a sequel to that book. Some of the central characters are turned from sympathetic and believable, if edgy, to simple tropes. Conflict is contrived for the sake of creating drama, but it’s adolescent and unconvincing. The cast of multiple characters does a good job, but some characters are added to the story that are just silly foils. Female characters are turned into sexual foils.
I’m disappointed that this is the follow up to a good audiobook.

Creepy AF (in a good way!)
I loved Joshua Jackson in Oracle 1, so this format change was a bit of a surprise. It took some getting used to, but overall it was a good listen and would recommend to all thriller fans!

Good but too brief
I would have preferred a full length novel. I was excited to see a sequel but this feels like a little teasing snack rather than a fully satisfying meal. I hope there’s much more Oracle to come.

Better Than The First!
I enjoyed this one way more than the first Oracle. Great story line and kept me listening til the very end. I thought this one was way more creepier than the first one. Joshua Jackson is great! Hope there's another one soon!!!

Decent, but lacks the hook and urgency of the first book
Nothing like the first Oracle book. It’s slow moving, main character doesn’t have the same brashness bluntness about being a psychic, hiding it for days with some characters. The audio drama starts good, but apart in the second half of the series. Too much physical happening that the sound effects and dialogue don’t convey, and not enough narration to fill in the gaps. I was left just being told what happened by dialogue after the fact, because it was hard to follow. Also, everything suddenly wrapped so quickly that it was rushed and cheesy. All of a sudden we go from (spoiler alert) in a haunted amusement park with an ancient witch and 3 possessed kids to all suspects apprehended and in police custody in literally 15 seconds, again, with audio drama not telling that story. It’s just a single line from the sheriff that actually made me check my phone and back it up thinking I’d missed something. Too many things ‘settled’ in the last 3 minutes that really aren’t.

Riveting
This is a sit on the edge of your seat kind of book, hard to put down and keeps me awake listening when I should be sleeping. Loved it; highly recommend, for anyone that likes scary stories.
