Publisher's Summary

Those who have made the decision to homeschool their children have done so out of great love for them and a desire to provide them an excellent education in the context of a warm, enriching home. Yet so many parents (mainly mothers) who have taken up this challenge find the enterprise often full of stress, worry, and anxiety. In this practical, faith-based, and inspirational book, Sarah Mackenzie addresses these questions directly, appealing to her own study of restful learning and her struggle to bring restful learning to her (six) children.

True rest is possible, busy moms

"Rest is the virtue between negligence and anxiety." Sarah sheds light on the real task of a homeschool mom who desires the "well done" from her Maker, and yet is "insufficient. But He is not."

A must read (um, listen)!!!

This book is essential for every homeschool parent (& I am sure non-homeschool parents will find most of it useful as well!). I was initially intimidated by the title... I’m a busy mom who is often tired & just trying to keep up with everything from swim lessons to laundry to cooking supper, and on, and on. Thankfully this book is not saying that you have to be well rested... it’s a mindset shift that is both practical & achievable (even for someone as run off their feet as me!).

Life Changing

This was a refreshing read that encouraged me to reflect again on the real reason a Mom homeschools. She is a delightful reader and this book is one I wish to read more than once a year!

Awesome book

Wow. This book was just what I needed. I’m getting ready to start a new school year and struggling with 5 kiddos, including a kindergartener a preschooler and a newborn. The other 2 are grade 3 and 1. I’m trying to get so much in but losing the desire and enthusiasm I had at the beginning. This book brings everything back to focus. GOD will take your offering and multiply it. It doesn’t matter how awesome your curriculum is, give your best effort with what you have, love your kids and He will do the rest. Amazing book.

Fresh and hopeful for Homeschool Moms

I've listened to this twice in the last month.
Sarah presents homeschool moms (even those of us who have been teaching our kids for many years) with a gentle, doable fresh approach to teaching our children.
I have already recommended this book to several friends facing exhaustion or feeling like they are in a rut like me.
Thankyou Sarah

What an encouragement.

This is a great encouragement for cultivating the sort of life that leads to education. If you are feeling anxious or if you are just starting out, this short read is of great value.

Wonderful Book

I love teaching from rest. Sarah has provided an excellent book for all homeschooling mothers. I could listen to it over and over and always learn something new, in addition Sarah is an excellent narrator, her voice is very encouraging and calming! Perfect for those of us with frazzled homeschooling nerves that need a fresh dose of encouragement that we can in fact do this and do it from a place of rest. #Audible1

A book every homeschool mom needs to read

I devoured this book. So full of wonderful and insightful little tidbits - not on just how to homeschool well - but to live life well. To be present in the lives of our children, and to live in the rest God has given us, even in the midst of our most chaotic days. I would highly recommend this book to any fellow homeschool mom.
